You can also pass him the HDD Regenerator, just in case the bell rings.

I'm running HDD Regenerator but I'm getting this error
¡ "The master boot record of this hard drive is damaged!
when I boot with the HDD Regenerator USB in MSDos mode, it throws a disk geometry error.
Any other suggestions?

Be patient with the tests, they usually take quite a while. Try not to skip steps, they are being tried in order from less aggressive to more.
Try CHKDSK (drive): /F /R /X
If the disk is F, it would be CHKDSK F: /F /R /X
If the test fails, and you have tried other sata connectors as Fassou indicated, and HDD Recovery has not been able to get it going either, from here you can consider the data lost.
As a last resort, do a low-level format. Remember to correctly note the information of cylinders, heads, etc. The guide is quite good.
If it still doesn't work, it would already be a mechanical failure and we would be talking about something else. -
But does the disk still work on the laptop?
-
now it no longer detects it.
I cannot use fdisk because the system does not assign a letter, the disk administrator tells me that the disk is uninitialized.

Start with a utility disk like Hiren's Boot and use Partition Magic to partition and format it, it usually detects even the most tedious disks…
Best regards

I have a mk5055gsx in my hands and I don't see anything that could have been damaged when I took it out: it doesn't have surface components or traces or anything.
I would say that a static discharge could have brushed the electronics. Anyway, try the utilities that Sylver told you to see if any of them detects it.

At the moment I am trying to format it at a low level, although I am not sure if I am doing the formatting correctly, it has been going for 3 hours and is still at 4%.
-
Is it normal for a low-level formatting of a 500GB disk to take two days and still be at 41%? -

yes, I had the hdd regenerator with a 500GB disk and it took a week and a half, so patience and see if there's any luck
