I am trying to format a Seagate Barracuda 200 GB
I have tried twice with the option
Start/My Computer/DiskH/(right button)/Format
Where it says: allocation unit size, there is the possibility to put 512 bytes, 1024 bytes, 2048 bytes and 4096 bytes. Should I put some amount of these or the option of: Default allocation size?
The file type is NTFS
In properties it says that there is free 198GB, but 73.6MB used
How is it that it is not completely empty?Regards

For the allocation unit size, set it to 4096 bytes or "default size".
When formatting, the system creates the so-called file allocation table, in which the information on how the space on the drive is managed is found in order to be able to save the files on it. Those are the 73.6MB occupied.

I have two HDs that I have formatted
One of them has been left 100% empty and the other with those MBs that you say.Now I would like to put one of them in a computer and install the OS, which one do you recommend I put in?

So use the one you prefer or the one that is faster by itself. If one goes to 5400rpm, you should not use it for the system. If both go to the same rotation speed, then guide yourself by size or by cache.
Anyway, when you install the OS, take the opportunity to format the chosen disk with the OS installation program, to do it right from the beginning.

I have tried to install the OS on both disks and there has been an error on both
One says
ntldr is missing
The other says
bootmgr is missingI am trying to load Windows 7, things start off well with the selection of language, keyboard, etc
The first few items on the list load to 100% (I can't remember what they are)
The next field to be filled gets to 1% and then another error comes up that starts something like (0x800…)

Test those disks on another PC with CrystalDisk Info, they may be damaged. Also check the DVD drive and/or try another Windows 7 DVD if you are not installing from removable drive.
Does the computer work well with another disk that has another OS installed or by installing another OS directly?

Tambien quisiera saber que archivos hay o tiene que haber en el disco para que sea util, me explico, parace ser o almenos entiendo que en el disco ha de haber algo dentro para que adimta las instrucciones del SO que se va a cargar, es asi o no?
El caso es que le doy ABRIR y aparace vacio
Alguna idea mas?Este disco HD 1 es el que uso ahora mismo y me preocupa esa luz amarilla, es grave, se puedee mejorar?

VerntallatPuedes usar un hosting como imageshack, subir las fotos ahí y poner el enlace en el cuadro de diálogo que sale al pulsar el botón de "Insertar imagen".
Los archivos necesarios ya están en el disco una vez que lo formateas con el instalador del SO, que crea el MBR, etc.
El disco 1 te aparece en riesgo por sectores reasignados, ya no lo vas a poder mejorar, así que si tiene algo importante dentro, sácalo y no uses el disco. Lo puedes dejar de almacenamiento externo o algo por el estilo, pero no para cosas importantes porque antes o después dejará de funcionar.
En teoría, yo me quitaría de problemas de la siguiente manera:
1-Saca todos los discos duros del equipo.
2-Pon sólamente el que quieras usar para el SO y asegúrate de instalarlo como MAESTRO.
3-Arranca con un disco de utilidades como Hirens Boot y utiliza el programa Partition Magic para eliminar todas las particiones del disco que vas a usar, crear una nueva partición activa y darle formato en NTFS.
4-Iniciar la instalación del SO y darle formato rápido en NTFS de nuevo justo antes de instalar.De esa forma te tiene que dejar instalar el sistema operativo. Si sigue dando fallos haz lo que te dije y prueba con otra unidad de DVD o con otro disco de Windows 7, los fallos en el proceso de instalación son muchas veces causadas por ellos.
En caso de que no funcionase nada de lo anterior, yo pasaría un memtest para ver si hay algún fallo adicional que esté impidiendo la instalación, pero si te funciona ahora mismo con el XP me decanto más por algo de lo anterior.
