      Hello everyone

      I have a laptop
      Acer Aspire 5742
      ACER ASPIRE 5742 15.6 I5-460M 4GB 320GB W7 :: APPInformatica.com ::

Lately it has been heating up more than it should and I have thought about adopting some gadget for cooling it down
I would like to know which one or which brand is the most suitable for this device
Or is it simply a matter of opening the laptop and using a brush to remove the dust?

      Regards
      Verntallat

The most advisable thing is to open, disassemble the fan and clean the heat sink fins.
My trick is to have the laptop propped up with four soda can caps, to lift it up and give it more airflow, and to clean it regularly.

Even if it's out of warranty I would make a hole in the bottom where the turbine fan is located, which basically what it does is remove hot air towards the farthest part of the copper piece used as a heatsink (more than precarious system). Changing the thermal paste on this heatsink is also recommended, it lowers the temperature by a few degrees.

          Regards

            Hello again

            Thanks for the replies
Regardless of those steps to keep the laptop in good condition, I will carry them out soon
I would like you to advise me on one of those pieces that are placed under the device and are connected via USB

            Best regards

It is true that the internal cooling of a laptop can get dirty very easily (especially with fabrics), but to heat it up it doesn't have to be dirty, just give it a bit of a workout for a while.
Putting a cooling pad on it or at least something to separate it from the table is completely essential if you give intensive use to a laptop that is at least a bit powerful. And not just because of the cpu, often the cpu is safe by a hair thanks to its mini active heatsink but the disk and other parts of the system get too hot.
My laptop has been waiting for a more thorough overhaul for a while now, but I already suspect the power stage, and more so after the mega burn-in sessions that my ex-wife used to do, without a base or rubber feet or anything, I mean the coffee table glass was almost burning <:(
                Salu2.
