      Hello comrades!
I want to build a pc for my son, "given the prices of complete pc towers", I have decided to buy the elements independently. The doubt that assails me is with the processor, (I don't want to spend a fortune).
I have seen these two models:
      Intel i3 - 3240 (3,4 ghz)
      Intel G2020 (2,9 ghz)

I already see that i3 has more speed…but the doubt that assails me is: If I were to get the G2020, would I notice much of a difference with the i3?

      Cheers!

You have the G3420 quite cheap, which is good to go with an economic graphics card like the 7770 for less than 100€. If you want to build something that will last, you can opt for a 7770 (you will already have a decent one) and stretch up to an i5 for 160 euros, not much more than an i3. There you get 4 real threads (4 cores), with the i3 4 threads but with 2 cores (2 virtual ones that perform much less and not with all games), with the G you would have only 2 threads, I would almost go for an FX-6300 which has good performance with games that make good use of its 6 threads. I think it's a good option, especially in the long term, although if you can stretch to an i5, better than better.

Do you play? If you want to spend little and get a decent computer to play, you could pass your graphics card to build it with the G and buy a 7770 or something better. Another option to not spend too much for now and have a computer that will last is to buy the i5 and have it work with the integrated one which is similar to yours, with a good graphics card later on, it will have a nice computer.

With the FX you could also do the move of passing the Nvidia, these don't come with integrated.

          Thanks for your advice Obione!
I have an I5 2500K installed in my computer, with OC done, and I am very happy…as for gaming, I hardly play, I only got hooked on wow and now I have pretty much forgotten about it.
Looking at an FX-6300 is not bad, an i3 goes for more or less that price!, the I5 goes up, if I remember correctly mine went for about 170 euros, it's that the pc I want to build for my son would be complete, even with a new case, the one he has now is ugly, huge and old...I have to buy everything (hard drive, memory, motherboard, dvd-rw drive, graphics card etc...) and if I buy what I want it would go up and my wife would not be "very happy".

AMD is your ally if you have a low budget and are looking for a not too demanding performance. For your child, I think any that fits your budget with a normal graphics card like the 7770 will be perfect. Back in the days when I inherited a computer, I was satisfied with a Pentium MMX and a 4Mb graphics card and from there I jumped to a PII at 333Mhz with a Voodoo 3 of 16MB. So if it comes from a single-core or similar, the change will seem incredible ?

            Best regards!
