I've been looking at power supplies and at the store I've been to they had 3 available that were from these brands (I can't remember the models now): Enermax, Aerocool and Thermaltake, both 80+ gold series; and Seasonic but this one is 80+ platinum series.

My doubt is not about models since I'm clear about the wattage I need, it's about the brands. Since I'm looking for something reliable that won't give me problems later because it has power drops or doesn't deliver what it promises. Of the 3 in the gold series, which brand do you recommend? Or is Seasonic, even though it's in the platinum series, better than the other 3?

Regards.

Enermax and Seasonic manufacture their own power supplies and are specialists, while Aerocool and Thermaltake sell power supplies to complete their other product ranges, ordering power supplies to which they put their stickers on top.

Regarding 80+ certifications, from least to most efficient are Bronze<Silver<Gold<Platinum<Titanium, but above Silver (80+ Silver) I don't think you'll notice a difference in power supplies below 750W.

Salu2!

I just realized that the seasonic is not silver, it's platinum (small oversight) so it's better than the others...

To make sure. The seasonic is 1000w and initially what I'm going to build is as follows:

• Asus Z87 Deluxe (C2) Socket 1150 Motherboard
• Intel Core i7-4770K Processor
• CPU cooler: Corsair H100i Extreme Performance (Hydro Series™ H100i Extreme Performance CPU Cooler)
• 16 or 32 gigabytes of RAM (depending on the final budget)
• Gigabyte GTX 770 Graphics Card
• 1 SSD and another mechanical hard drive for storage
• Reader/writer... 2 devices
• 12cm rear fan, 20 cm front fan
• Internal DVB-T tuner
• A front panel to control temperatures (CPU, GPU, etc.)

I don't know if using USB ports will have a big impact on consumption. I usually have my smartphone charging on USB, then the typical use of pendrives, printer, scanner and an external RAID (with 3 hard drives, but this one has its own power supply).

I think that with the 1000w one will be enough, right?
Considering that I would like to have some extra power because if not now, in 2 or 3 months I will have 32 gigabytes of RAM. And then in the future I would like to do some OC and even set up a 2-card SLI.

Best regards and thanks.

In one it says I need 950w and in the other 1200w (counting the 32 gigas and the sli of the graphics)…

With the smallest platinum (660W) it's enough, it would even be enough for a 780 Ti SLI.

I would loosen the board by 100 euros to get a 780, a GA-Z87X-UD3H or something like that is still a good board. If you wanted the Asus Wi-Fi, better mount a PLC.

2 recorders?

I would save the front, SpeedFan is more successful.

P.D with 32 gives 767w

The front panel is out of the question, the recorder wanted one and a blu-ray player but I'll skip the second one for now.

I'll take note of the power supply, I'll look for one of 700w more or less and enough.

The motherboard thing, I'm in doubt, but I see a good option to remove those 100 and put them towards a better graphics card.

Thanks.
