I'll tell you about the situation… I currently have this computer + screen bought in 2011 for 950€
Recommended by you and I'm very happy with it ??

      Intel Core i5 760 2.8Ghz box socket 1156
      Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3
      Scythe Yasya CPU Cooler
      G.Skill NQ DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 4GB 2x2GB CL9
Lian Li LanCool PC-K60 Negra PC-K60
      Source OCZ StealthXStream II 600W
      Nvidia GTX 470
      Screen BenQ GL2240 21.5" 1920x1080 (LED)

I usually play Rome II, online racing, skyrim... and if the news is confirmed, GTAV in the future ;D

The problem: The graphics card has stopped working, I think it's because of overheating. :eoh:
      The doubt:
I don't know if I should buy a new graphics card and keep the computer to see how long it lasts
or renew the whole PC (or part of the PC) and... to put it somehow, renew the computer, hopefully for 4 more years ;D [800€ budget]
Let's see what those professionals with a vision for the future say hehe ;D

Best regards and thanks in advance!!

With one hand on my chest and the other in my wallet, I didn't even think about it: new graphics card (GTX 660 or a 7870), optionally doubling the RAM and keep fighting.

Edit: That said, only if the graphics card is really dead...

It is definitely broken, because black boxes started to appear, even on the desktop. I updated the drivers, tested it on another computer, and had to disable it. Now, in device manager, the graphics card has a yellow icon and the device status says: "Windows has stopped this device because it reported problems (code 43)"

Well, if you really do it with one hand on your chest and the other in your wallet xDDD I think I'm going to go for the 7870, it costs €15 more than the GTX 660, but I've seen around that it's better and newer... the bad thing is that I didn't get along with ATI at all, but well, I'll have to try ;D Thanks Whoololon ?

            Hello!
In the end, after much thought, researching, analyzing the situation and getting my wife's approval ;D
I decided to partially upgrade my computer

I'm listing the current specs again

            Intel Core i5 760 2.8Ghz box socket 1156
            Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3
            Scythe Yasya CPU Cooler
            G.Skill NQ DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 4GB 2x2GB CL9
Lian Li LanCool PC-K60 Black PC-K60
            OCZ StealthXStream II 600W PSU
            No graphics card :llorar:
            BenQ GL2240 21.5" 1920x1080 (LED) monitor

I usually play Rome II, online racing, skyrim… and if the news is confirmed, GTAV in the future ;D

I would keep the case, PSU, hard drives, DVD reader and monitor

And this is the budget I've found:

            Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4Ghz Box.................158.68
            MSI Z87-G43 Gaming................................96.69
            Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.....................23.97
            Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 OC 2GB GDDR5...243.80
            TOTAL................................................ 523.14

and I still have to decide on the RAM:
I guess that currently 2x4GB is not enough
so I don't know if I should add another 2x4GB, or buy this

            G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8GB 2x4GB CL7....61.98
TOTAL with RAM.....................................585,12 (which is perfectly within the budget)

what do you think? what should I do in this case?

            regards and thanks again!

Well, if you're in the mood to upgrade it, I won't repeat myself, but take a look at the memory, because you're going to mix different latencies and that's not a good deal: the latencies should be the same. :sisi:
Also, the CM 212 seems a bit skimpy if the summer is hot or if you plan to overclock it, besides, due to the new components, you'll have to change the power supply to one of at least 700 W, so you'll be safe from possible artifacts when you push the 770 to the limit.

Apart from that, good luck to enjoy it. ;D

                hello whoololon!

I didn't think about combining the memories, I'll end up buying the new 8GB "2x4GB"

About the power supply, I've seen in your signature, the Tacens, which I've heard speak quite well of them.
                How is this one?
                Tacens Mars Gaming 700W … 33,95€

And finally about the cooling... well I'm lost, I would appreciate it if you could recommend one

Best regards and thanks for the help ;D

Keep in mind that the heatsinks for that micro are usually quite bulky, so you should take into account the dimensions of the tower. That being said, with the money from the memory, you can get a Noctua NH-U12P SE2, it fits perfectly in your case and it's a good heatsink.
Regarding the power supply, I've had little experience with Tacens, but I can say that Nox has very little to envy in terms of reliability and performance.

I think that if you don't do an aggressive OC, then a Scythe Mugen 4 will be perfect for you
