DDR2 voltage problem Different brands!
-
Hello! Since 2008 I have a
E8400
2x1 GB RAM CRUCIAL BALLISTIX 800
ATI HD4850
and now I wanted to overclock the CPU (from @3.00 to @4.00, since I discovered that it was a very easy processor to overclock, and besides I changed the heatsink recently) and I also bought 2GB of RAM from the brand "GSKILL" (2x1GB tmb). The processor temperatures do not exceed 55º
The problem is that once installed it started to generate stability problems in the system, when watching videos on Youtube the computer froze, when playing games it froze every 2 out of 3 etc... many problems.
I started to investigate and I managed to find the error, I think it's the memory.
Here I attach some screenshots to see if you can help me, since I don't understand much about this topic...
Thank you very much! If you know a possible solution, I would appreciate it if you could explain how to do it for a total novice like me (obviously you have to touch the BIOS and stuff and thanks to a YouTube video where a guy had the same CPU and motherboard I was able to do the OC xDDD)
Best regards and thank you very much!! -

The solution is to put voltage and latency of the worst pack, also you will have to raise a little the voltage to the chipset, if the ones that ask for more voltage are the Crucial then that voltage you must enter although there are chips that do not want much voltage, I refer to other brands, or manufacturers of Chip the Crucial perhaps are Micron and the G-skill according to the chip they have if they are Samsung, they will ask for something less voltage but possibly they will also raise less, but I suppose you will have to enter 2,10v to the memory for the 800 to 4-4-4.
Also raise a little the Chipset voltage, also according to the motherboard I had a rampage formula and a P5K Premiun and I put a Crucial to 1200 with 2,10v, but an MSI P45 does not want to see them at that frequency.
In those captures I see that the G-Skill are worse, that is to say they say 800mhz at 5-5-5 and 1,80v but perhaps it is little voltage for the Crucial, I would enter 2,10 and I would put 4-4-4 and 800 MHz if you raise the FSB to 400 better.
greetings -
By manually entering the JEDEC#2 values for the Crucial memory, it shouldn't give you any problems.
Regards!

And how could I do that? thanks

It is done as it has always been done, by entering the BIOS and setting the values manually.
Salu2!
