Goodbye Pochoclín, hello Popcorn Time.
This program has been getting a lot of hype lately, compatible with desktop systems and combining an explosive mix of Torrent + Movies + Stream where the interests of the industry have been the spark.
The team of developers (Pochoclín), knowing how Hollywood & co. operate, have abandoned the project. Fortunately, it is an Opensource project that already has a replacement, and even if it didn't, as long as there is code there is hope :ugly:
When I first heard about it, I thought it was both an obvious and brilliant idea to make a simple streaming program based on torrent and with a link to a subtitle monster. I was a bit disappointed to see that it was geared towards blockbuster movies, but I still think it's an interesting project, and one that deserves a post on the forum. If you don't know about it, keep an eye on the program, although I will use it very little, I will wait for the replacement and I recommend you try it out as well as soon as the train starts up again, because in my opinion this is a train that can't be stopped by lawsuits.

What else but to take a look, although I am already quite disillusioned with new formulas that seem good (read Pando) and that in the end fail and you are left with the usual: torrent, mula and JCD.
But as I said, to try it out...

I wanted to have a kind of youtube to upload videos, and if they are shared, to have enough speed to watch "onthefly" without the bitrate violations that free platforms impose on you.

Everything that is streaming-torrent, movies and free leisure, is worth it :sisi: :ugly:

Well, what I've tried with p2p streaming hasn't gone very well, I don't think it's going to work just with the upload of people who are playing, at least not here with the ADSL we have. And it's logical that for premieres, shared streaming doesn't work for stored video without servers in between, it's usually used for live things. But it's an interesting idea, in the meantime, downloading a 1080p movie from yifi can take 30min at most... Of all now I'm very happy with couchpotato.Sent from my iPad with Tapatalk

The only way this will work is with a points system that rewards seeders and penalizes hit-and-runners. Otherwise, decent service will only be possible when there are symmetrical connections of tens of megabits in most homes, and there is still a lot of work to be done for that.
