What can I improve on my PC?
-
Hello fellow users, I wanted to know if there is a way to improve the components I have in my signature, it has been a couple of years and so far it has worked very well and I have not needed to do anything except for the RAM which I could not detect at 2133 and I increased it manually, any advice or expansion to make it a great machine?

Hello,
If you want to spend little and feel like you have a NASA PC, buy an SSD for the system and you will see how it seems like a lightning bolt.
Best regards

Thanks for the comment, I've been thinking about getting one for a while but I have no idea about the quality of each brand and model, I've read that the kingstons are a bit bad, any recommendations??

As Sylver rightly says, putting an SSD makes a difference and is a good investment, but more so for gamers, you can save up for one of the new GTX870s that will be released soon.
Cheers!
P.D.: take a look at the Storage branch

One more question, right now I have the heatsink that came with the micro, do you know of one that cools better? I bought the thermaltake contac 39 but I had to return it because it clashed with the door fan. Thanks

Well, that's easy. In fact, it's strange to find a heatsink that cools worse than the one that comes "as a gift". :troll:
However, in your case, you have to pay more attention to the dimensions, because of the problem you have already mentioned, which is why I can't recommend any.

Practicamente any tower-type heatsink with a 92x92 fan will do… It won't clash with the door and it will be better than the one that comes by default.
As for SSDs, the Crucial ones have a good quality/price ratio, and the Samsung ones are also very good and are very fashionable now

Hello again, I've bought a crucial mx100, it will arrive in a couple of days. Since I'm new to these drives, I should have some recommendations to keep it in good condition and extend its life a little?? Anything to configure in Windows to make it perform better? Thanks

Disable C1E; C3 and C6 help a bit too.
Install at least Windows 7 64 bits from 0 so that it stays aligned and clean.
Disable hibernation if you are not going to use it (I am not a fan, it's 8GB in your case), you could also reduce paging to 4GB fixed (4GB extra space in your case), I don't think you need more.
Once the System is updated, clean up updates.
Disable System Restore, make an image when you have everything installed with the games that will last you a long time and everything configured to your liking.
I would say that those are the "big ones", a while ago I put a tutorial on an audio forum, here it is more detailed, THIS is the thread.
Around there you have issues of performance and space. To extend the useful life what you should do is not store, reading is not a problem, writing wears it out and not leaving it a small margin accelerates the problem so try not to occupy more than 75% of the capacity. What you should also not do is remove caches, the SSD is for use and when it wears out you will have SATA/PCIe Express disks with more bandwidth and capacity for less money.
As simple as putting my documents on the magnetic one and configuring both the browser and possible download programs so that they do not store on the solid one. If you are going to put a heavy game that will last you a little and is not demanding with loads, put it on the magnetic one.

Hello, I have already installed my ssd in my little one but I have a couple of doubts, are the photo values normal? And in the crystaldisk photo why does it show unknown in the health status?? Thanks
