Component nomenclature
-
Hello everyone;I wanted to know if there is any method to understand the nomenclature of motherboards, processors or graphics cards.
I have read something but, I am not very clear, I do not know if they are standard or what is going on, I am confused.
for example:
MSI A68HM-P33
Gigabyte GA-F2A58M-DS2
Asrock FM2A78M-HD+
Asus A68HM-PLUSI WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU CAN FIND OUT WITHOUT GOING TO THE MANUFACTURER'S PAGE, KNOW THE CHARACTERISTICS THAT THEY TELL US IN THE NOMENCLATURE.

Hardly, each manufacturer uses their own criteria to name their models
Some are common sense and are usually common among manufacturers. In the case you have exposed the chipset of the motherboard is presented in the name (A58, A68 and A78). The suffixes behind are specific to each company and usually indicate the category of the board according to its extras etc (DS3, DS4, DS6… in the case of Gigabyte).
The easiest thing is to know the "dynamics" of each manufacturer to quickly deduce the names.

ok, thanks for the answer.
Let's say I want to know about the Asus or Asrock house, where do I start, where is there a list of that house to know its nomenclature.
Best regards.

I think the best thing is that you first separate platforms and then attend to the chipsets as krampak tells you.
In fact, on the manufacturers' websites, (if they have them well set up), you can find exactly what I think you are looking for, a hierarchical guide of the platforms ordered by characteristics. For example:
On the left you have all the platforms and within each one, the models that the brand has.
Greetings
