Could you sell me one or do we make a trade + cash XD, I've always wanted to have one XD. Regards.
-
I sell you a rampage 4 XDDD
-
Can't you put two 920s or two 950s in it?
Because they should be cheaper, although I think that at the resolutions you use you don't need much more frequency either, at lower resolutions and if you put the 3 Titans in it you should win.
Also that socket 1366 is good I still use it and it has been quite profitable for me, it holds up pretty well for what I want.
regards
I always wanted to have that motherboard with its RL blocks, more than one has made fools of themselves with it. Waiting for those results, which will surely match or improve those of your 3930 and those are two little ones, put two 990x in it and goodbye to the world XD. Regards.
jotole, where are you from? I think I'll be in your area next month, in case you want to try that motherboard with two i7 980x…
Hi everyone, sorry for not stopping by here before….
Well, in the SR you can only mount Xeon processors, the "normal" 1366 ones, don't work, at least in dual CPU configuration. The processor needs to have dual QPI link, and only the Xeons have it. Anyway thanks for the offer.

I don't have the SR anymore, it found a boyfriend and I sold it, I bought it to try it out and the truth is that the performance is very good, it has nothing to envy to the platforms that exist now.
In games where frequency is more noticeable, obviously the 4.9 Ghz of the 3930 stand out. But in games that make better use of cores that's where that platform is noticeable.
I have data from the tests, but my PC, as usual, is disassembled :ugly:, and I have the tables on it, hopefully it will be operational next week and I'll post the data....
Regards...!!!
P.D. I've reviewed the thread and I see that there are missing photos, I don't know why, I'll upload a few with the SR-2 mounted......

You are quite a bad person, hold on if I don't visit you…

I'm still alive XD, I've been very busy, I left this world for a while due to mental and physical collapse. But I discovered the world of aquarism and I fell in love with it, it's a shame that maintaining a marine aquarium is so expensive XD. I've been getting back into the computer stuff since the beginning of the year, back to school, work and mods XD.
You'll see me around here again to mess things up ;D.
Hugs to everyone!!!! -
What do you have? Sharks? ;D
Best regards -
I am very happy about your return Javisoft, it is a pleasure to read you again :sisi:Greetings

ahh, the sheep always return to the foldnos leemos

Stop with the bullshit XD, I had a bamboo shark which I saw being born from its membrane, amazing XD, too bad the moray eel I had ripped off half its face XD. I've had a bit of everything, even scorpion fish. But I tell you, it's much more expensive than computer science, we're talking about a point where it's not feasible to maintain it without a good salary, if it's reasonably big of course XD. -
if one of fresh water (cold) is expensive and the ones of hot water are skyrocketing, one of salt water I imagine must be veryyy expensive to have and maintain.

Hello, I wanted to build a 5960x :osvaisacagar: But seeing the poor performance that both this and the 5820k/5930k are giving for the price, I decided to find one or two old eVga SR-2s, as I know I would have a great time finding some good Xeons that would overclock well with low voltage, so I picked up a few, x5670, x5675, x5680, and x5690.
. x5680 + x5680 + x5690
To be honest, I see it as a good investment, much better than if I had gotten the crap 5960x they sell, which usually have a CBB of -100º and a CB of -122º!!! It's a disgrace! Well, let's get to the point:
The board is amazing, doing a BCLK test, it easily reaches 210
-
I don't see it from your point of view, and I've jumped from a pretty good 980x to a 5820k XD. The problem with your equipment is the consumption and temperatures, with that voltage you get close to 280/290w per cpu, to cool that well you have to spend too much money just to gain only a 15% vs a 5960x at the same frequency in pure cpu environments, in games and other zero improvement.
That same 15% that you gain if you push the 5960x to 4.7 or 4.8 GHz stays at just over 5% since they are giving almost 20 points at 4.5 in cinebench r11.5, this is my opinion, in any case I loved that board in its day, the same dua tomorrow I will get it again to put two more small ones in the lian Li XD.
Best regards!!!.

Well, the truth is that it was something I had pending with this SR2, now that I have time, I wanted to make it a reality
Well, you have to go up almost 500mhz more to the 5960x to match the performance with the SR2 at 4.45Ghz

The real consumption is somewhat higher, here you have the real consumption of the board and the two processors, the graphics that I used was a 7300LE, which does not consume practically anything in 2D
Well, this SR2 did not last long, it's already dead
-
Average consumption of 880W
-
Well, what bad luck man :(. Regarding performance, the 5960x at 4.9 ghz matches those xeons, but only some chips reach that stably, but 4.8 ghz is more feasible and there you are just a little below with much less consumption.Best regards
-
Yes, it's also a lottery to find a decent 5960x, better to pay extra and have them tested, it pays off seeing the results
About the Xeon's 1366
Here I leave one of the last captures, it came from overvolting since it was previously working at 4.75Ghz

I'm left with the good memories of this SR2, a dream come true, now let's go for another project

Regards
