Well I don't know, I suppose you've looked at it again and again and certainly, there's little to add.
To put something, and unless you're going to take advantage of the ones you already have, at least one more hard drive, mechanical for data storage. As for the graphics, well, you already know what the 970 has.

Regarding PCC, who provided the equipment I have now (with assembly and testing), they've given me a good impression. The transport company seems quite competent and they really put effort into the packaging.
On the negative side, you already know my odyssey with RAID, and the online stores' mania of wanting to solve everything through emails and not offering a toll-free number to handle incidents (or provide technical support) after sales.

Motherboard: I'm not set on anything, but I'm sure there are cool motherboards for less money. The Asus Maximus VII Ranger, for example, is about 50-60€ cheaper. And it doesn't look bad. Unless you're looking for extreme OC, I don't see the need to spend more than 200€, even more than 150€ is unnecessary. MSi has cool motherboards at lower prices.

SSD, the Corsair MX 100 is around 15€ cheaper and performs very similarly, I just bought it and I'm very happy with it. Okay, it's not a big saving, but a little here and a little there and you'll save something without losing performance...

Power Supply: With a power supply like the Corsair RM750 750W, around 135€ is already more than enough. Even with a quality power supply with fewer W I think you would be overdoing it. I don't see the need to spend almost 200€ on a power supply, there are actually power supplies under 100€ that would serve you like the Enermax Revolution X´t 730W Modular.

Blue Ray drive... Are you really going to use it? If not, a battle-tested DVD burner for 15€ and that's it.

Graphics: If you don't mind paying for 4 Gigas and using 3.5 then the GTX 970 :troll:

Cooling: I've never had liquid cooling, a Noctua for 50-60€ I think would be more than enough, unless you're looking for extreme OC.

The case, well, the one you like, it's a very personal thing.

I don't see anything wrong with the rest.

PD: Damn how prices have gone up because of the damn dollar :ugly:

Thank you very much for the early responses.

I wanted to go easy with the power supply, although I don't know if 750W would be enough even if I add a second graphics card someday. I have two mechanical HDDs that I would put in Raid as I have now. The SSD is only for OS and basic apps.

You're right about the BlueRay reader, amd125. I put it because the case doesn't have 5.25 bays and I need one USB and I put the first one I found. I'll go for one that costs 20€.

I know about the GTX970, but it still performs better than the 960 and previous ones and it costs almost half as much as the 980.

well this is my opinion about the source to spend that money I would buy this:

Seasonic X-850W 850W 80 Plus Gold Modular - 196 euros, Seasonic is Quality

super silent, 5 years warranty, and supports a maximum of 1000W

I like that configuration. I would only change the SSD for the Samsung 850 Pro of 256Gb, which has 10 years of warranty, which compensates in that price range and fits within your budget ?

I think it's expensive but it's a good team and it's well balanced, I agree with the comments. The second to last PC I built had 16gb of ram and in the end I saw that I didn't use even half, now I have 8gb and it's perfect (it was cheaper back then). If you want to save a little, 2x4gb and then you can expand... The power supply, with a gold one is more than enough. You could also save a little on the motherboard. And the case, there I don't mind spending, although I would build a mATX a bit more compact.

Well, I've adjusted it a bit more:

Asus GeForce Strix GTX 970 DirectCU II OC 4GB GDDR5 379,00 PCComp
Asus Maximus VII Hero 209,95 Amazon
                        Corsair HX750i 750W 80 Plus Platinum Modular 170,55 Amazon
                        Corsair Obsidian 450D 133,00 PCComp
                        G.Skill Trident X DDR3 2400 PC3-19200 16GB 2x8GB CL10 151,71 Amazon
                        Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0Ghz Box 342,00 PCComp
Liteon iHAS124-14 DVD Writer SATA OEM 14,95 Amazon
                        Samsung 850 Evo SSD Series 250GB SATA3 109,11 Amazon
Corsair Hydro Series H100i 121,95 Amazon
                        Total 1.632,22

I'm still going with the Hero (cheaper on Amazon though) because I find it visually more appealing and I like how it looks through the side window of the case (considering that in performance practically all Z97s yield the same results in benchmarks).

I'm going down to a 750 power supply and changing the case to Obsidian 450d, a bit smaller, less flashy but of great quality (according to Tecnho who is a totally reliable person).

I'm not sure about the memory. I understand that 16Gb is enough, but it shouldn't negatively affect performance.

Thanks again to everyone for the advice.

I insist on the best SSD, now that you have gone down from 1700€ and that you get on the big donkey whether or not the memories work, more in favor of my argument :troll:

Wow, the amount of sailor jokes this sequence has generated by subtitling it.
And the graphics... I already told you that I personally wouldn't buy it since I already use all the VRAM I have. But for someone who runs applications that use around 3GB, I admit it's a great graphics card.
But anyway, I'm sure once it's working you'll be clapping your hands, as overall it's a very good device. :sisi:
