If your PC is the one from the brand, don't change it. An I5 2500K is superior to the FX 8320. The FX may be superior in some programs that use all threads, but at the office level you won't notice much difference and in general Intels are superior to AMDs for having a higher IPC. This is a higher performance per thread.

And I tell you this because I have an FX-8350. I bought an FX-8320 because it came out very cheap second-hand a year and a half ago, it broke and from the RMA they gave me the FX-8350. Otherwise I would have bought an I5. Besides, the 2500K is unlocked and they usually have a higher overclock margin than AMDs. The FX 8320 that goes to 3.5 you can easily put it at 4.0, but to go beyond 4.2 you need luck and a very good heatsink because they are very hot micros. Already at 4.0 they are very hot.

Regarding the motherboard, the Asus M5A97 EVO R2.0 that is around 100€ is a very superior motherboard. If you want to put the FX 8320 as an FX 8350 or more, you need a motherboard like this, not a cheap one.

But I repeat, if your computer is the one from the brand, don't change it. And if it's not the one from the brand, think about buying an I5 better than an FX. Something more expensive but superior.

Thanks amd125 for clarifying things for me.
If the PC I have is the one from the company, I have also overclocked the I5.
I wanted to change the motherboard and processor to move it to XenServer (an excuse to modernize the Xen), because Xen doesn't perform well when I have several virtual machines open. (low memory and an old 2-core processor).
So, with what you said, I'm more interested in modernizing my motherboard, processor, and more memory for Xen (I have it in a rack), and leaving my PC as it is.
So... how about this configuration for Xen?

          Amd FX-6300 processor 3.5Ghz 6X for 100 euros
Gigabyte GA-970A-DSP3P motherboard for 64 euros
8 GB memory for 47 euros
          All seen on PCcomponentes

And this way I save some euros, which is not the time to throw them away!!!

Thanks amd125, I look forward to your suggestions!!!

            Hello:

I don't know the power you need for the Server, although I think the RAM (Quantity) will be vital.

In that case, 8 gigabytes of cheap RAM, a motherboard like the one you indicated, and a normal processor will suffice. You could also put an FX-4300 and you'll save 25€. Otherwise, the FX-6300 is a good processor.

As I mentioned, it would be a shame to use a 2500K for a server, because to this day it is still a great micro. If you're not going to OC, a motherboard like the one you indicated will be fine.

            Best regards.

Well I'll do that, I'll get that motherboard and the FX-6300 and later increase the memory from 8 to 16 gb, and I'll put it in the Xen.
Thanks a lot for your help amd125

              Regards!!!

No problem. The only thing is that the FX cooler is nothing special. I used my previous FX-8320 for a few days with the stock cooler, and in winter the noise when it maxed out was unbearable, so I went back to using the cooler I've used with all my computers for years, a Scythe Mugen 1, and everything went back to normal.

                Best regards.
