Duda Ram for G31M-s2l
-
Hello everyone! I wanted to ask a question that came up while I was looking for RAM for the Gigabyte G31m-s2l motherboard. My question is whether all DDR2 800mhz CL5 and 1.8V RAMs work or only those that are on the compatibility list. Thanks in advance and best regards. -
In principle they should not cause any problems.

The list is, so to speak, a non-exclusive certification... that is, it is assumed that the manufacturer has taken the trouble to test those on the list, but other models should also work without problems if the voltages and speeds are supported by the board.

Thank you very much to both of you!!

I have another question, I hope you can help me:
If the motherboard accepts the voltages and speed of X (let's call it that way) RAM memory, but it is 4 GB, and in the compatibility list the highest memory is 2 GB, will it accept 4 GB?
-
It supports a maximum of 4Gb and the largest module that can be put on the board is usually the maximum RAM divided by the number of slots available (except for cases that have slots for DDR2 and DDR3), so 4/2=2Gb is the largest module you can use on the board.

Indeed, as Yorus has explained, 2Gb modules.
