[Help] Doubts about setting up SLI with GTX970
-
Hello guys I'm new to this forum and I would like to know if with this power supply _SPAM_Corsair CX750 750W I have an i5 4690 and 16 of ram.
Is it worth doing sli? Do you gain enough power?
I'll give you a link so you can see my pc is the same only that I changed the graphics card for the 970 and put 8 more of ram.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.
First of all, the power supply, in theory if you don't overclock, a GTX970 asks for 145W, and recommends a 500W power supply, so your power supply should hold up, but if they are versions with OC, and you have something tight in the equipment, you will be close to the limit.
About SLI, just an idea to forget about it: micro-stuttering
It's a bad time to invest in a graphics card, given the imminent release in the summer of the new mid-range toys from AMD and nVIDIA, and the high-end ones for Christmas.
If you have burning cash, save it. Or look for the one who is selling because he wants to buy one of the new

Salu2!

The supply is more than enough but as Fassou comments, the SLI issue and more now is a bit silly.
If you have the cash, sell your 970 and get a 980Ti second-hand or refurbished from Amazon.
Recently, a TitanX was sold on H2M for €700 with a RL block as a gift... a big ad that didn't last a single day on sale.
Your card can really be sold for €250-300 and I think for about €550-600 you can get your hands on a 980Ti.... if not, there's always Amazon refurbished: Amazon.es: gtx 980Ti: Refurbished Products
I recommend it mostly because SLI is only noticeable in games that support it and even then, if what you're looking for is more power, the best thing is to put something more powerful... multigpu has never convinced me in the mid-range because it doesn't make sense.
It makes sense in the high-end because there are no more powerful cards and it makes sense if, after a while, you find a mid-range one on sale... although of course... the high-end ones have also devalued.

Thanks for answering, people. They're leaving it for me for 175 euros, which is why I was reconsidering it for that price. What do you guys think? Thanks, guys.

The price is interesting… too good to be true but if it's a friend I see no problem... it's their problem if they want to sell it badly or get rid of it quickly... better for you :troll:
In any case no one knows yet how much better the new generation will be... for now nVidia has already stopped manufacturing chips of the current generation.
It is speculated that it will be twice as powerful with half the consumption and with double or quadruple the RAM to meet 4K... I think they will be 50% more powerful in general but with half the consumption and with more ram... that's cheap, isn't it
.Therefore that price now is very good but maybe in a couple of months you deeply regret the expense... or not... this is not a forum of fortune-tellers ;D

For that price, the one who sells it to me has to come to my house, assemble it and make it work, only then do I pay him.
…that smells fishy to me, come on.
