Z170 motherboard doubt
-
Hello, I'm new to the forum and after a long time as a common PC user, I've decided to build my own PC to my liking and because it actually saves you a lot of money and you're not ripped off by the assemblers by putting a mosquito in for a hare (many don't even reach cat level).
I've chosen the I5 6600K as the processor (initially I had chosen the 6500 but as the difference is "only" 35€ I think the 6600 will give me more performance and durability in the long run) I must say that the leap I'm taking is going to be abysmal, from a Phenom X3 to this, but the unemployment period during which I took several computer courses and a gamer nephew have poisoned me and it's not a plan to keep usurping my brother's house to play The Division.
well, after the rant here's the question:
Which motherboard do you recommend from these 2, Asus Z170 pro Gaming or Asrock Z170 Xtreme 4?
only from these 2
Thanks and regards

The Asrock.
You don't need a K micro to OC it on a Z170 chipset.
Welcome to the forum. -
If that was what I had seen and more things but as several so-called "experts" have told me to stay away from asrock like the plague then it has confused me about the issue.

ASRock Z170 Extreme4 +1 :sisi:
Just your experts need to update a little ;D
Salu2!

Your experts have betrayed you…...or they got stuck in past eras, which is also possible.Look at the signatures here filled with ASRock plates, do we look happy?

As Fassou and whoololon rightly recommend, the ASRock Z170 Extreme4 is one of your best options. It also has my vote :sisi:
Best regards!

ASRock… the doubt offends :osvaisacagar:
Asus as a brand is overrated... it's not a bad brand but it has hundreds of ranges and models... if you want something really cucumber-robust you have to dig deep into your pocket with motherboards that you pay a pretty penny for or extras.
ASRock barely includes extras but the motherboard is of quality and very robust except for the low-end ones.
Then they have the specific range for OC but there aren't any big differences... isolation and the possibility to modify RAM Timings from Windows... the rest of the circuitry is similar or identical to the Extreme range which is the most interesting.
The only gripe or complaint that people usually have is that the UEFI of ASRock is a bit simple-Spartan compared to those of manufacturers like Asus or MSI but that's something they are improving even though it's not that important.
The ones I do recommend avoiding are Gigabyte and EVGA because lately I've only read bad things and problems with immature BIOS... in any case it's always better to be informed.
