My intention was to reduce the volume of the partition that contains Linux; to then, add that unassigned space with Gparted, to the Windows partition (drive C) that has run out of space, since the Windows Disk Manager would not allow it (it can only extend the volume in the contiguous space).

The disk is divided in the following order: Linux-Windows-Recovery-Swap-Data (extended partition), that is, the unassigned space would be left of Windows, and to add that space to the Windows partition is only possible with Gparted.

I read in the Gparted manual that: “if the partition is a boot partition of the operating system then the operating system may not boot after applying the partition move operation”.

According to the manual, I could have problems.

Is there an effective solution to my problem?

Most isos of distros come with various tools including a Grub bootloader. I have never resized a partition that had to boot from the start so I can't vouch for anything, but I have created images of Windows installations that I have then installed on partitions and disks of different sizes and configurations and have never had any issues.

It is possible that it will work if once resized, you run the tool that comes with the Windows disk to fix the boot sector and then reconfigure Grub.
