HELP xfx geforce 8800 gtx won't give me video
-
Hello everyone, I hope you can help me with this annoying problem that I've been having for a while now. I'll start by saying that I built a pci-e adapter because my power supply only had one, based on a YouTube video... Okay, here's the issue XD XD I bought this second-hand card, I installed it, turned on my PC, and I noticed that it was making several beeps with my GTX. After a few seconds, it stopped making the beeps, and from there everything went fine, the fan on my card turned on, and everything seemed normal, but there was no video from the moment it turned on. I installed another video card that I had on hand, and it turned on without any problems... I've already removed the battery, adjusted the jumper on the clear cmos, nothing. I've checked that both power connectors are connected to the card (the 2 pci-e) and the problem remains the same... What could it be? My power supply is 460 watts (80 plus) -
Hello, welcome to the forum.
A 6 pin to molex adapter, which I think is what you are referring to, doesn't cost that much, besides, that power supply I think is not enough to power the 8800 GTX. That graphics card needs a dual 6 pin connection and, according to the manufacturer, a power supply with a power of at least 450 W.
The other graphics card starts up because I assume it doesn't need extra power, just the one provided by the PCIe socket. On the other hand, it wouldn't hurt to know the brand and model of the power supply, since from the start the minimum requirement of that graphics card is very close to the power of that power supply (minimum recommended 450 W).
Regards.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility that the graphics card you've bought isn't working, if you could, try it on another computer.
