Restore permissions in Windows XP

Finally I can log in again,.. the account reset link did not let me in..??
Hello I have a dual boot with Win XP PRO and Win 10 PRO, the problem is that I don't know how,?? the permissions have been lost in XP and it won't let me install any program, it gives me error 5: Access denied.. it's frustrating, I still use XP more than Win 10, I don't know if they have hacked the XP partition.? because before I had no problem installing any program..
Any suggestions...

That is, the setups do not have permission to access the temporary folder. Try changing the permissions of that folder with the following steps:

Go to the %temp% folder (or c:\\users[YourUser]\\AppData\\Local) and right-click, properties on the Temp folder, go to the security tab and click Advanced.

In the permissions tab you should see the current permissions, which should be:
'SYSTEM' Full control applied to this folder, subfolders, and files.
'Administrators' Full control applied to this folder, subfolders, and files.
'YourUser' Full control applied to this folder, subfolders, and files.
And the 3 should be inherited from the C:\\Users[YourUser] folder and have the option to include permissions that can be inherited from the parent of this object checked.
Try pasting a file into that folder and if it lets you then try with a Setup.

HELLO thanks for responding, the TEMP folder is in: username\\Local Settings\\Temp.
In the folder where you refer to username\\Application Data, there is no folder called local that in turn has a TEMP folder..??
Moreover, programs like Firefox try to update and won't let me.... The update is downloaded but not installed..??
I get messages like this:
WINDOWS DOES NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE SPECIFIED DEVICE, PATH, OR FILE. YOU MAY NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THE ITEM.
I have never had problems of this type before, I am going to change the disk with another one that has Windows and I will look at the permission settings.

What Windows do you have? I have "C:\\Users\\krampak\\AppData\\Local\\Temp" on Windows 7, and that's where all the temporary files from the installers are decompressed. Hmm... Do you have "Show hidden files and folders" turned on? "Application Data" is not hidden, the one I'm telling you, "AppData", is.

I have a dual boot with XP Pro SP3, and Windows 10 Pro, I use XP more...
If I have active the option to see hidden system folders and files.. otherwise they do not appear...The problem may come from this:

I found the solution, I've been going crazy for months, and in a Microsoft forum I found out that the put... ESET NOD 32, the HIPS option enabled is the one that blocks the installation of programs, as well as opening them..
At the bottom of the webpage... it refers to the Windows 8 operating system, but I tried disabling it and I was able to install programs...

the first thing to do when there is an antivirus problem is always to disable the antivirus
