From RX480 to RX580 updating BIOS

Well according to this news from WccfTech, by simply installing the BIOS of an RX 580 onto an RX 480, it unlocks features that allow the latter to match the specs of its... "successor"?
The question is, is it worth it? -
It was seen that they are improved versions of the same hardware, I suppose that if you don't mind the extra consumption and heat... It is one more option to extend its life.
