Remote virtual machine from the browser
-
I was looking around and I found something really cool. Someone has set up a web service from which you can control the desktop of a remote machine that is running on a server, I think in Germany. The desktop shows an Ubuntu edition and comes with all the typical programs by default. The machine doesn't have much free disk space, but for what it is, it runs very smoothly.
The page is this one: https://tux.io/

I think it's a curious service, but I have a feeling it won't last very long or will become a paid service soon. I can think of 1000 ways to squeeze that service for personal gain by cannibalizing all the resources they offer. On the other hand, I don't see any published source code or anything like that, so I'm not sure what to think of the invention.

Well it's an interesting demo of a web remote desktop, and it doesn't work badly at all. Also if someone tries to abuse the use it's easy to limit the resources, curiously it cuts off if we try to browse the internet

@Bm4n I don't know, I can navigate the internet perfectly, that's right, when you try to search on google you get a recapcha of the dick, a quarter of an hour answering little questions to prove you're human.

Navigation would restrict it because it would be easy to make a "Source" well done by getting into the virtual machine inside the virtual machine x times.

@kynes well it closed for me every time at 10 seconds of starting to browse
