A few weeks ago, Coffee Lake was announced as the successors to Kaby Lake, but with AMD pushing, the Santa Clara-based company has decided to create sub-generations.Read more...

They "improve" just enough so that you have to change the motherboard, come on.

It seems that the second wave of 8th generation (the Coffee Lake) will be released within a month with a price of €199 for the Core i3-8350K, €299 for the i5-8600K and €419 for the i7-8700K.

Rumor has it that Intel is going to aim for 8 cores for the home market. These would be processors for the "enthusiast" range with the Z390 chipsets.

The third wave of Coffee Lake has already been released and at first glance it doesn't look bad:

That i5-8400 is very interesting for that price. What the competition does (or the lack of it for a long time)

I agree with kynes, I think that in terms of performance/price, the i5-8400 seems to be the best option for a quick platform replacement, and if we take into account that the price of the board is in dollars, at the exchange rate it is supposed to be even cheaper.
If the boards are not skyrocketing lately, maybe it's time to go for the change.Best regards!
