Problem with hard drive, it doesn't appear on the computer
-
I am new to writing about this, if the topic already exists please share the link so I can go directly there.
Well the issue is that I have problems with an internal hard drive (Samsung HD080HJ/P, 80 GB) that I only use as storage for personal files (photos, videos, documents, etc.), while I have the operating system installed on another one.
The thing is that one day I disassembled the CPU to remove the accumulated dust, and when I reassembled it I was surprised that when I connect the hard drive where I store my personal files the computer freezes and it is impossible to see the files since nothing can be done, I have to disconnect the hard drive and the computer works correctly again.
I have already tried connecting it from a SATA to USB adapter to see if the computer can recognize it and even so it has not been possible, with this method the computer does not freeze but it does not recognize anything (I have already tried it on 3 different computers). I have already tried going to control panel > device manager and my hard drive is not found. Similarly, I tried in system and security and trying where the formats appear to change the letter and there the disk does not appear, only the disk C which is the system one. The same with HDD regenerator and it is in the same way without recognizing it.
I have tried all the methods I have found in different forums and none work, if you could help me I would be very grateful. -
If the HDD regenerator doesn't recognize the disk, I understand that it doesn't appear in the BIOS either, right? If so, it looks like it's broken. It's very typical that with a broken disk, the PC freezes (trying to read faulty sectors).
Have you tried connecting it and putting your ear to the disk to try to hear if it makes any cyclical noise?Look on youtube for videos about the noise I mentioned:

@krampak many thanks for responding, it seems like it will be that. I will continue to investigate as I am very interested in what is inside.

Hello, I have read your problem, the main thing is that it appears in the Bios, if it does not appear, it is because the disk is not physically well and the operating system will not detect it.. Have you tried any repair tool, disk detection from Samsung itself.. SHDIAG O SHUTIL.
Look for them on Sofpedia..
