Doubt with product key in reinstalling windows 10
-
Hello, I have Windows 10 installed at home that was previously Windows 7, so I don't have the CD or the key for this Windows.
To reinstall Windows 10 directly, you can go to Microsoft and create a USB to install the operating system.
So far so good, but when it asks for the product key, which one do I enter? Does the Windows 7 key work? Should I use a program like Product Key to get the key? That would work.
Thanks in advance. I say thanks and a hug.

Well I answer myself.
Depending on where I look I have three different answers.
The first is that when I upgrade from Windows 7 I have a digital key linked to my Microsoft account, during installation I can skip putting any key and it will activate by itself.
The second is that the key of my Windows 7 is now valid for Windows 10.
The third is to look at the product key that I have installed and use that key.
I will have to give a vote of confidence to the first option since it is the official one from Microsoft, when I have time I will try it and we will see how things turn out.Salu2

If you have already had Windows 10 on that computer it will activate by itself. What you have to do is not put the key during the installation, choose the correct version of Windows 10 to install and as soon as you have internet connection it will activate by itself.
If that does not work you can see installing Windows 10 from scratch and during the installation (not after) put in the Windows 7 license. This method works whether you upgrade or not from 7 to 10.

It is the doubt I had.
Thank you -
