Placing myself to update platform...
-
Well, since I still have to wait for Nvidia to sort out the GTX 2xxx series (we're aiming for my birthday), I'm considering upgrading my gaming platform, and keeping the i7 4770K for hackintosh with the Gigabyte B85M-D3H motherboard.
Let me explain...
My intention is to get the following (4 years ago it cost 540-560€ (Asrock Z87 Extreme4, i7 4770K, Thermaltake Nic F4, 2x4GB DDR3 2400 GSKILL RIPJAWS Z)...
The config I'm looking at:
Case: Zalman Z9 Neo
Power Supply: Corsair TX850M
Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus GA-Z370 Ultra Gaming (it doesn't quite convince me but Gigabyte is great for hackintosh)
CPU: Intel i7 8700K 6x3.7Ghz
Cooler: Thermaltake Nic F4 (I'll change it)
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V Black DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 16GB 2x8GB CL16
Graphics Card: (waiting for GTX2000)
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB
HDD: Seagate 1TB Sata 3 + WD 1TB Sata 3
Sound: Integrated motherboard with optical outputSo the i7 4770K would be like this:
Case: Tacens Mars Gaming MC2
Power Supply: Corsair TX750
Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D3H (great Gigabyte for hackintosh)
CPU: Intel i7 4770K 4x3.5Ghz
Cooler: Thermaltake Nic F4 (I'll change it). I'll use the stock one until I change it.
RAM: 24GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z Black DDR3 2400 and G.Skill TridentX DDR3 2400
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTX560TI (if it's still compatible with Hackintosh)
SSD: Kingston V300 240Gb
HDD: Seagate 1TB Sata 3 + Seagate 1.5TB Sata 2
Sound: Integrated motherboard with analog 5.1 outputSo I'd give the i3 to my father like this, since the Asrock is a pain to get working with Hackintosh:
Case: Generic.
Power Supply: Tacens Mars Gaming MP600
Motherboard: Asrock Z97 Extreme 4
CPU: Intel i3 4160 2x3.6Ghz
Cooler: Stock
RAM: 12GB DDR3
Graphics Card: Asus EN9600GT 512MB DDR3
SSD: Seagate 1TB Sata 3
Sound: Integrated motherboard with analog outputWhat do you think?
