[Short entry] Western Digital closes disk plant in Malaysia

In recent months we have seen how the price of SSD units has dropped considerably. This puts another nail in the coffin of the classic technology whose downward demand has meant that for 2019 a plant that WD has in Petaling Jaya, Selangor will close. Let us not forget that a few years ago, WD acquired Sandisk where it focuses its solid state business. Despite everything, the company is not giving up on mechanical disks (it only adapts to demand).
