Hello, I think I have already decided and this week I will place my order for my renewal of the team formed by the Asus Rog Strix Gaming B450 motherboard, Ryzen 3600, set of ram 2x8 gb Gskill 3200Hz Cl16 (AMD), Noctua NH-NH-U12S SE-AM4.
It will replace my Asrock P67 Pro3 motherboard, i5 2500k,......., my doubt is whether I should format my hard drive where I have the operating system installed (Windows 10 64 bit) or on the contrary can I leave it and when I install it uninstall and install the new drivers for the new components. What do you advise me? Is formatting advisable or mandatory?

I explain everything about the components chosen, but make sure that where you buy it, they update the BIOS to the latest revision so that it supports your Ryzen 3600 CPU.

Regarding the formatting, a few days ago I switched from a 4770K to a 3700X. What I did was the following, I booted the hard drive from the 4770K (which was going to remain as the main storage) and I booted it on the new platform, (it started up on the first try).

What I did do was keep an eye on the activation of Windows, since you will need a Microsoft account and the serial number from which the license came to corroborate the serious hardware change (I call it serious to make a distinction).

So I activated Windows, and I performed a clean installation of the system. And that was it.

I will tell you about the serious issue with Windows 10.

Since it is a digital license in some way, it registers with the Key, the motherboard (more than anything else). So when you start up and don't verify it, it informs you that it is not correct. If you change the hard drive, or add another one, or change the Ram or the graphics card or even the processor, no, but when you change the platform, yes.

Reactivation is as simple as going to activate Windows again, going to the Store, and telling it that you already have a serial number, you enter it again, and it will start working and activate. (Important if the license comes from a Windows 7/8/u 8.1 update, it must be that number and not the one that Speecy, Aida64 or third-party programs generate for you.)

        Greetings!

Thanks hAyO, I already have the update under control, I will pay the extra at PC components and they will do the update for me since the motherboard does not have the USB option like others.
Regarding the issue raised, I do not have a serial because a friend did a clean installation last winter and you know what usually happens with these things........., even so my doubt was whether it could create problems with flashes or errors.

There are pages where you can buy licenses for a few euros since they are intended for the OEM market. I think they were around 15-20€

Well for now I'll go with a Gigabyte Rx570 4gb Bulpack that I find at the beginning of the year for 2 bucks. I've been saving up to upgrade practically everything except the case which is a Corsair 600T and the power supply which is an Ocz 700w.
Later I'll upgrade the graphics card but for now I have to wait.........

Good graphics card, if for the Ryzen a bit short but depending on the resolution you play it's effective. And better to wait because now with the recent launch of the Navi and the restructuring of the RTX there's a good mess.

Yes probably a bit short for the 3600, the resolution I usually play at is 1080 full hd with a 60Hz monitor. As for the graphics card I already told you that when I recover it will be the next thing I change, but as you say now there's a mess of a thing with the cards and the prices I don't even mention. The mid-range has almost disappeared and now it's either low or high
