I need a team for 2D graphic design and some 3D, the problem is that among my doubts is to get a laptop or a desktop. The laptop thing is because for the practical classes there are not enough machines for everyone, and the desktop because I think it would give me more performance per euro spent.

On the negative side, getting the desktop would mean being hand over hand watching how the others do it during class.

To give you an idea, for the laptop I'm thinking of the Medion Erazer P6705 (MD 61347) expanding the RAM to 16 GB, the desktop something like this.

I'm open to suggestions, as long as they are below 960 €, especially with the monitor, which I've gone over on paper but have no idea if it will work or not.

      Thanks in advance.

You're really telling us that you need a laptop, don't kid yourself ? and since 2D design (mostly) covers you with any graphics at the level of an HD 7xxx from 7 years ago, the main thing is that you invest in RAM and CPU.
With the graphics of that Medion you would go perfectly.

Architecture with an i7 from the fifth generation onwards and 8 or more gigas of RAM is perfectly manageable.
With less too, but both the workload and the renders take their toll ?

        Best regards!

If you're going to work on design issues, I recommend that you lower ram and put in a bigger monitor. You'll notice it. Decent 2k isn't much more than saving ram, and 32gb of ram unless you work with very, very large issues is not essential. That the monitor gives you the correct colors if it is. Don't see the number of jobs that come to me that on their screen it looks like this....
The graphics, unless you're going to start playing, seems like you went too far. Now I'm with a rx570 of 4gb that cost me 100€.
It's an issue that I tell those who are going for a laptop for design, that they should run away from the 15". They remember their mother and so on when they have to use zoom constantly. And go to the intel series 9 in the laptop. They are already lower in price than the 8.

My recommendation is that you go looking for the bargains you see out there, that if it's not something from the day before yesterday, you're sure to find very curious and new things. Look for the refurbished ones from the store where you want to get the pc, they give you a warranty and I've already caught them with a couple of cards and they were perfect. And the monitor for me IS important. Imagine that I have an eizo of 23" and a normal samsung of 24", and I'm already looking for something of 28 or 30" 2k or 4k. The benq are now quite good in quality. Who would have said that.

For example: here are the memories that I put up the other day at the same price. The RGB ones went up to 210€, but the others are still at 125€. Some DDR4 4000. With the processor that you can put on it, you will notice it.
