Apple, Google and Amazon join forces for smart homes

They want to create an open-source standard for smart homes in which you can choose whether Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or Apple Siri spies on you. It remains to be seen whether this open standard will end up needing some closed service without which, the entire open base serves almost no purpose, as happens with Android.

The idea that Android is useless without Google services is quite debatable. Regarding the news, it's scary to see the three musketeers joining forces for this.
