The industry's trend to reduce complexity by eliminating functionality continues. Now it's the turn of the Windows file explorer, where large areas of the screen are seen as unused. It's initially a proof of concept, but the idea of minimizing information density as much as possible is clear.

It's fine that they unify and simplify design, but as long as they give the option for more information. That for basic level users it's not too complicated, but for those who have a little more computer knowledge it's not a torture any moderately advanced task. Let's see how they do it.
