Looking for cheap laptops

I am looking for a cheap laptop, for these days, I do not want to spend more than 250€

And if you ever want a laptop, I would recommend the new Ryzen 4000 series.

I agree with Mr. @Fassou. If you need it urgently, with that budget the best option for you is the second-hand market.

@lmsantigo30 If in the end you want to buy something now, yes or yes, I would think about taking advantage of some of the stock liquidation offers of the 3000 series of Ryzen on sites with many payment facilities.

An example would be this laptop HP 15s-eq0017ns that goes up to 424€.

If it's for use during quarantine and you won't use it much after or will sell it, I would go for the cheapest one, but I would upgrade to 8 Gigas of Ram. 4 are few today. As soon as you have several internet tabs open and some other program in use, you'll see the computer is a bit slow. 4 Gigas will cost you very little.

I have two Lenovo laptops from the X series (12.5" screen) with older I5 than the cheapest computer and one with 8 Gigas and the other with 16 and both with ssd, for not very heavy office work they work very well so I wouldn't spend more.

I wouldn't buy the laptop for more than 300€ because as your colleagues mention, for that you might as well go for a new one, spending more but with the full 2-year warranty ahead. AMD is starting to release laptops with very nice micros at good prices, without having to go for a top of the range, some even with 1080p screen.
