Encrypt files with cobian backup
-
Hello, I am setting up a backup in cobian backup and for certain "delicate" files I am trying to encrypt the files, the idea is to encrypt a folder that I have with photographs and another with invoices, contracts and other documentation.
Of the options that cobian gives me I have tried with the AES encryption of256bits.
I have seen that cobian backup itself has a utility to decrypt the files, my question is if I can decrypt it with any other utility?I ask this thinking...if someday the cobian application stops working or something...
Thanks

What you need to look at is whether the key is generated on your PC with the components it has, or if it has a public and private key that you generate with a password and that you can then transfer to any other PC.
If you discover what it is, then you have the answer.Regards

@radge You can decrypt it on any other site as long as you remember the private password of course. Anyway cobian backup will not stop working, it just stopped having support and for the moment it has no updates. The last version is cobian backup 11 and it works on windows 10.
