Crysis 3 from VRAM
Someone has been able to install the game in the graphics memory and play from there.
Core i5-3470S
Yesterday someone brought us this Ivy Bridge from 2012 with 4 cores without HT. With only one mode, it's hard to compare but in principle it seems similar to the i7-5820K. It stays in 5th position in the architecture ranking and in 84th position in the top 100.
Core i5-9400F
Someone has brought us today the twenty-first Coffee Lake to our database. It has 6 cores without HT and a TDP of 65W. With only one mode, its performance is practically the same as the i5-8500. In the architecture ranking it stays in the middle of the classification, in position 10. In the top 100 it stays in position 23.
A walk through 1997
In this entry, we take a walk through a year in which the Pentium MMX, Windows 95 OSR 2.5, Winamp, Broken Sword 2, Need for Speed II, the first GTA installment, Quake II, and Age of Empires saw the light. We have not forgotten the Linux world of the time, with the installation of Debian 1.3.
Touchégg takes advantage of the touchpad on desktops
The gesture combinations on touchpads that have been inherited from the touch screens of phones and tablets have made certain actions more comfortable, such as zooming, scrolling through documents, and switching between windows, among others. With this program, that functionality is transferred to a desktop PC.
The first DDR5 memories are presented
A well-known manufacturer has announced that they already have ready the first DDR5 memory sticks that will come with capacities of 16 Gbits. The first motherboards with support for the new standard will be seen sometime in 2021.
Core i3-2330M
Yesterday, someone brought us this 2011 Sandy Bridge laptop with 2 cores and HT. Comparatively speaking, there are no big surprises and it looks like CPUs from the same era and same range. It is the eleventh Sandy that reaches us and stays in the penultimate position. In the general ranking, it stays far from entering the top 100 multithread.
About DDR5 latencies
Platforms with DDR5 along with the memories themselves will appear in a matter of months. In this article, they review the basics about latencies and compare the different DDR generations.
About the variable TDP of processors
Although the article talks about Tiger Lake, the reality is that it also happens with the configurable TDP of the Ryzen. And the complaint comes from the fact that with the numbering of the models, there is a lack of information to know the characteristics of the processor.
Zen 3 won't need a new chipset
Those who want to switch from Zen 2 to Zen 3 will be able to keep the motherboard. In other news, the commercial name of the new architecture will be Ryzen 5000.
Specifications of the Ryzen 5000
AMD has prepared this page with the characteristics of a handful of models from the 5000 series (Zen3).
Project Pentium – 1. Arrival and review
"Thanks to my friends from the Telegram group and the free time I mentioned, I set out to look for a computer (or parts) that would above all allow me to try again live old glories of MS-DOS, or even with Windows 95/98."
