      Hello everyone.

I don't know if now is a good time to buy a PC, it seems that there are no stocks of new RTX 3000 or Ryzen 5000. Moreover, the high-end graphics cards are overpriced.
My current PC is about to turn 10 years old and I want to buy a new one (only the tower). I understand that now I should choose an AMD Ryzen CPU.

At work, I have an HP with 64 GB of RAM. With 3 browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and sometimes IE11) open and their multiple tabs, development tools and Sql Server, several Excel, Word, Pdf, and remote desktops, it is always between 52-54 GB in use. I will be working remotely at home, I also want to start with virtual machines and begin with video editing programs. I want it to be comfortable with memory.

Here I see prices of 128 GB, from 460 to 1300 euros:
      https://www.alternate.es/Memoria-RAM/DDR4/html/listings/1463484198294?lk=12626&sort=PRICE&order=ASC&hideFilter=false&showFilter=false&filter_2728=131072.0

That said, there are few 32 GB modules available. These, with two packs and I would already have 128 GB:
      https://www.amazon.es/CORSAIR-Vengeance-PC4-25600-Módulo-Memoria/dp/B07Y4ZZ7LQ

I would like a GPU to move 2-3 monitors well (or one of 49 inches). It would be fine with one of these: RX 6800, RTX 3070, 2080 Ti or higher.

I see offers of 63% discount..but the problem of Stock
      https://www.coolmod.com/kfa2-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-exoc-white-11gb-gddr5x-tarjeta-grafica-precio

And a reliable motherboard, in some forum posts I see that some have problems. Better MSI or Gygabyte than ASUS for AMD.

      a) Available budget.
      2600 euros maximum (only Tower)

      b) Is it only the tower or also include peripherals (DVD burner, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, etc.) and which ones. In case you already have a monitor, say what size in inches and resolution in pixels it is (if you don't know, at least say the brand and model).

      I rule out liquid cooling.

The tower Without monitor, keyboard, mouse. speakers. I doubt including a DVD burner or card reader. I have them in my PC but I haven't used them for years, sometimes to view data from a DVD.

The case with moderate consumption, with good ventilation, silent as much as possible (RGB, I don't care, at least that it can be controlled or turned off if I sleep with the PC on).

      Currently I have this monitor:

BenQ BL2400PT 24" VA LED DVI Multimedia Pivotable, support that allows height adjustment, tilt and rotation. It has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a response time of 8 ms GTG, a static contrast ratio of 3000:1(DCR 20,000,000:1), a brightness of 250 cd/m2, two 1W speakers, and D-Sub, DVI and DisplayPort inputs.

I suppose I would need an HDMI 2.0 to D-Sub or DVI adapter to continue using BenQ BL2400PT 24". The primary one I would like a Samsung C49RG90.
Samsung C49RG90 - Curved Gaming Monitor 49" (UltraWide DualQHD, 4 ms, 120 Hz, Freesync, QLED, VA, 32:9, 3000:1, 1800R, 600 cd/m², HDMI, Round Base) Dark Grey
HDMI 2.0 does not support that resolution (5120x1440 pixels) it has to be DP 1.4 or higher.

      c) The use to which the system will be mainly destined. Also say if you want a team prepared for Sli or Crossfire, as well as if you are going to overclock the processor and what level it would be (moderate, medium or high).
Use of SLI/Crossfire, I have no idea about that. Nor will I do Overclock, because I don't know about it.

Work-Productivity: Intensive use of browsers and 200+ open tabs..
      Virtual Machines / Programming
      Office/Downloads 24/7
      Leisure/Multimedia (Movies, browsing, etc)
Start with Design programs (editing some video-audio: Davinci Resolve and others, DVDVideoSoft, Wondershare, ffmpeg, audiacity...)
      Play very little.

      d) If you want an OS to be included in your budget.
Without operating system. Web to buy it OEM for 12-15 euros.

      e) If you have to include the assembly or you will assemble it yourself.
      Include assembly and testing.
      Necessary to update the BIOS?

      f) Where to look for components, if in a physical store or online (if it is a physical store, say the locality).
Online store like PCComponentes (there I bought my last PC 9 years ago), or another (Aussar, xtremmedia, CoolMod) but that is trustworthy (especially after-sales service) and not have surprises.

The budget is only for the tower, without monitor. So without knowing much, more or less something like this, with nuances:

      AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 4.7Ghz Socket AM4 Boxed
Gigabyte X570 AORUS Pro Socket AM4

      2 of Crucial Ballistix Red 64GB (2x32GB) 3200 MHz (PC4-25600) CL16

Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500GB NVMe PCIe - Solid State Drive M.2
Sandisk SSD Plus 1TB SATA3 - Solid State Drive

Antec HC Gamer Gold Series 750W 80 Plus Gold Modular - Power Supply/PSU
Be quiet! Pure Base 500DX Black Tempered Glass - Case/Tower

      Cryorig R1 Universal - CPU Cooler 1
Be Quiet! Pure Wings 2 PWM - Fan 14 cm

I would still add an RTX 3080 when there is stock. As I want to venture into design tasks, the Nvidia option is better as it has CUDA cores.
In principle, the BIOS update is enough to work with the Ryzen 5000.

CPU, I can also consider AMD Ryzen 7 3800X or XT, AMD Ryzen 9 3900X or XT
The motherboard has good reviews, although others say that the MSI brand is better for AMD.
Hard drive I would also add an HDD between 4 and 8 TB (WD Red better than Seagate).
For power supplies and cases I have seen a lot of variety. Corsair power supplies are also well spoken of.
The case phanteks eclipse p600s is highly recommended, otherwise Corsair, Fractal Design,...

Thank you very much, I accept any suggestion.

From a graphical perspective, from what I can see, the best thing is to wait, the question is until when?

Regarding the CPU, is it better to wait for the AMD Ryzen 9 5900X stock or choose an AMD Ryzen 9 3950X? Which will perform better?

        AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 3.7 GHz 599,91 €

        AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 4.8Ghz Socket AM4 Boxed 617 €

        AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8GHz 475,91€

        AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 4.7Ghz Socket AM4 Boxed 499,95€

        AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 4.70 GHz 719,90 €

        AMD Ryzen 9 3950X 4.7GHz Socket AM4 Boxed 749.95 €

But there is nothing more that can be done now, we have to wait for the graphics.

From what I have read, after researching a little more, for all the tasks I am going to do, I conclude that the 3900x or 3950x (16 cores and 32 threads) is better, with a Chipset+ AMD X570 on the motherboard. The main attraction of the Ryzen 5000 is gaming.

The X570 is better for those powerful processors, and it will better withstand very high temperatures, especially in summer, of the VRM.

What is clear to me is to look for RAM compatibility with the motherboard, taking into account that it has 4 SLOTS.

With a preference for MSI, as it is an AMD CPU, the choice could be the MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI 214,90€

Thank you very much. It is true that many concepts still escape me. I am NOT going to do OC nor am I going to play (if at all, sporadically).

I do read opposing opinions on other forums:

            "I have a Ryzen 9 3900x, with liquid cooling:

            1. I had an Asus TUF B450M and the processor ran well up to 4.1GHZ. Pushing it to 4.2ghz or more was possible but it was hard to find stability, and there were constant calculation errors.
            2. With Asus TUF x570, the Ryzen could scale to 4.4ghz without problems and the application intensive in mathematical calculations did not generate errors.
Seeing the difference between the two boards, the difference was the number of phases:
              one had 6 + 2, the other 12 + 2 +1.
Conclusion: Yes, the number of phases is critical."

"The best option is the x570 tomahawk as it has better phases than boards over 350 euros. You will have to trust the tomahawk has 12 phases, of a very good quality bordering on excellent and with a placement of 6+6 (which is the second best way to do it which is with doubler).

For the x570 there are tables to simplify it but they do not include the b550. For b550 for what you want, I would only go with the msi b550 gaming carbon but it costs almost the same as the one we have discussed and it is worse."

You are more lost than an octopus in a garage. Just in memory, motherboard, micro you already consume your budget. I think you should look better before you ask. Go to a store and build a pc and then ask.

@garfield totally agree. Pccomponentes for example. The configurator and you get an idea. And the towers don't come with a power supply. That's extra. And if they consume. Quite a lot. Depending on everything you build.
Regarding motherboards and brands. If you search on google. You'll see that there's a guide for the ryzen.

Thanks, I'm getting clearer with the motherboard.

The best option would be an RTX 3070 at a price equivalent to the RTX 2070 SUPER (or even the RTX 2060 cheaper). At least wait until February when there is enough stock, and see if the prices of other components don't go up.
