The price of graphics cards is starting to fall
-
The semiconductor market is beginning to move towards normality although there is still a strong imbalance between supply and demand. In the case of GPUs, prices are currently at 150% of the manufacturer's recommended price, compared to 200-300% a month and a half ago. -
Prices are still crazy. Ampere has been on the market for over a year, its starting price was already quite inflated and at this point it is still 50% above the starting price. This is a lost generation.
By the time prices return to normal, Nvidia and AMD will have already released the next generation. At that point, there will probably be bargains on second-hand units and more if the chip crisis ends once and for all. Although these companies are capable of using the psychological effect that now a 3070 for 800€ seems cheap and continuing with those absurd prices.
Competition and the law of supply and demand will provide... if they don't agree on prices, of course.
