LibreOffice turns 14

LibreOffice, the office suite successor to OpenOffice, which in turn succeeded StarOffice and this in turn StarWriter, and whose birth occurred when suspicions began to grow on the part of the community due to the purchase of Sun by Oracle, has turned 14.

Reusing HP cartridges

Someone has created a flexible PCB that is placed between the cartridge of an HP printer and the printer itself and allows it to be refilled in those models where the printer stops working once the original ink has been depleted.

Nvidia presents new configuration program

Nvidia is going to publish a new application for its GPUs that will replace GeForce Experience and its Control Panel. It plans to migrate all users before the end of the year. The new features include G-Sync control, support for multiple monitors in RTX HDR and the possibility of returning to previous versions of drivers.

Recording disk images from the mobile

EtchDroid is an open-source tool that allows you to record disk images on a pendrive from your phone, something that can save us when the computer doesn't start and we don't have another one at hand.

Firefox 131 available

A couple of days ago Firefox 131 came out, which comes with the possibility of giving permissions (like to geolocation) temporarily. You can also view the content of a tab by hovering over it.

New features of UE 5.5

Unreal Engine 5.5 comes with a new lighting technique called MegaLight that allows you to add thousands of light sources in a scene along with all the shadows associated with said sources. In this video they do a demonstration on a PS5.
