AMD Phenom II 1100T X6 vs Intel Core i7 960
-
Hello everyone,
I would like to renew my equipment and I am looking at the hardware market. I am torn between the AMD Phenom II 1100T X6 and the Intel Core i7 960. I have always been more in favor of Intel, although AMD has never given me any problems. I know that there is always controversy about which is better, AMD or Intel. But as hardware has advanced so much, I am starting to have doubts. Economically speaking, the right option is AMD. I have looked at reviews and AMD is not bad at all compared to the other Intel.
Which one should I choose?
Thanks for reading the post

Well, if you look at a review about the I5 2500K you might change your mind and see that it's not that expensive anymore. I'm the micro that I would buy today. If you do Overclock. Otherwise the 2500 plain, but for what you save, better the "K" that allows OC. And remember, an I2500K with overclock is relatively easy with good dissipation and memories to get close to a speed of 4.3-4.5 -
Given the performance of Sandy and the upcoming appearance of the new AMD and Intel platforms, I wasn't even considering socket 1366 or Sandy, as amd125 mentioned, whether you need it now or wait until the end of the year to see how AMD Bulldozer or Intel's socket 2011 turn out.
Best regards

Not right now at this moment and having a budget for an i7 like that, I would go for a 2600k or 2500k if you want a little cheaper, because AMD I prefer to wait a few months and see the bulldozer to see if there is luck before Christmas. -
It's clear that you pay for an I5 2500K but it doesn't disappoint, it's a winning horse. But you can take advantage of the fact that both systems give excellent performance to save you a considerable amount of euros.
1. Both platforms are reaching the end of their life; buying the top of the range means a considerable devaluation when the first model of the new one appears. This is particularly painful when there are only a few months left until it happens.
2. There is currently a Phenom II that is a bargain in price/performance; the 955 X4 Black Edition, unlocked to easily overclock it.
3. The AM3+ socket allows you to pin both the current Phenom II and the future Bulldozer, you can buy cheap now and upgrade to a TOP cpu later.

I would go for an Sandy Bridge 2500k or 2600k
