Hello, I have a 3.5" WD Elements external hard drive of 500GB for quite some time, the problem I have is that in one of my PCs (Windows XP) it has stopped recognizing it, in the others it works without problems but in that particular one there is no way, the PC recognizes pen-drive, external drives of 2.5"... but this one in particular nothing, I even get the icon to eject the disk but the PC does not react, it does not let me open the device manager or the disk manager, a bit strange.
Does anyone know what could be?Regards and thanks

Do you connect via USB or E-SATA?
Is it possible that you touched something in the bios that prevents it from being recognized?
Best regards

Well, as far as I remember, I haven't touched anything in the bios, the curious thing is that if I connect the hard drive (USB) with the computer turned off and turn it on, it does detect it and can access it, but if I disconnect it and reconnect it when it's on, nothing.
Regards
