The image does not arrive
-
you see something curious happened to me yesterday, I was browsing the internet with the PC and without more the screen turned black as if I had disconnected the cable, the computer was still on, I checked the cables and they were properly placed, I turned off the computer, turned it on again and nothing, the computer turns on but doesn't show any image. I'll tell you the things I've tried since I know something about computers:
- the screen works perfectly on another computer.
- I tried another graphics card that does work and it doesn't show anything either so the graphics are fine.
- the only thing left is the power supply but I don't have anyone with a similar one to try with another power supply, how can I know that the problem is the power supply? because as I've already told you, the power supply turns on when the PC turns on
the kicker is that the computer is exactly 2 years and 1 month old so there's no warranty at all
I bought the computer from pccomponentes and it's an Amd pehnom II X4 955 3,2Ghz; 2x2gb ram ddr3 kingston, ati HD4890 OC 1gb graphics and OCZ modxtream pro 600w modular power supply. It doesn't have any overclocking of any kind
-
You say that the monitor is fine and the graphics card too, but what might be failing is the PCI-e connector on the motherboard, try it on another PCI-e connector or disconnect the PC completely and clean the connector with a brush or a cotton swab with alcohol, it could be a matter of poor contact or something.
What card do you have?Best regards
-
the motherboard is Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P Socket AM3 the problem is that it does not have another pcie slot to test the graphics card anyway when I removed it I cleaned the slot a bit and I blew it insistently besides cleaning the contacts on the graphics card

Hello
When you turn on the computer, does it not beep at all? Not even a correct boot beep?
Best regards
-
it doesn't beep, it turns on the same way it did when it was working well
-
I suppose you have the speaker connected… But I deduce that it's as if you simply didn't have any card connected because the connector doesn't detect any error, it simply doesn't detect anything.
I would say that it is that, try to get the warranty or talk to the people at PcComponentes, once with a disk that was just out of warranty by a hair and they accepted it in the store, of course it wasn't the people from PCcomponentes, they don't take long to shake off the fleas..:nono:Best regards.
-
Well, it should give you at least one correct boot beep, even before the failure occurs.
Maybe you have the tower speaker disconnected from the motherboard and you don't hear anything, perhaps it's giving you some beep to warn you of the type of failure. It makes little sense, but I would try with another monitor on the same computer, just in case.
-
Now I have tried the power supply in another computer and the same thing happens, the screen does not turn on. What a curious thing, it seems that in the end it is going to be the power supply. Is it possible that with the power supply to the tower, all the leds of the tower light up, all the fans of the PC move but the monitor does not turn on????
-
Man, it's not very common, but as possible it is, you just checked it out…

Replace the "suspicious" font with a reliable one from another computer on yours and try it out... that way you'll know for sure.
Regards

that is the problem, I don't have another power supply to test it, I have another computer but it's very old, the power supply connector is not the same, and I think it's 350 watts.
Well, if I look for a multimeter like the ones in the picture, do you think I can check if the volts are reaching correctly through all the power supply lines? Could that be what's happening to it? That there's a line that doesn't have strength, right?

by the way, do you know if that device also measures the amps????
-
man the A is for amperes

-
Hello, anyway it doesn't seem like you have much idea of how to handle a tester which can get you into trouble in the form of circuit breakers, watch out for what you do
-
Measure it with the source disconnected from the board, make a bridge for it to start up and check it with the multimeter.
-
Measure it with the source disconnected from the board, you make a bridge so it starts up and check with the multimeter.
Bm4n sorry but you read the " 10"
doesn't have a multimeter and doesn't know how it works :mute:
so maybe it burns something …. -
Thanks but I have already read your comment, it's yours that I don't read :risitas:
I only respond to your question of whether I could check the power supply with a multimeter, and yes, for little idea and measuring with the power supply disconnected from components and board it is easy to do. And if not even there are power supply checkers that work simply by connecting them to the connector that goes to the board.
-
well the truth is I have never used the multimeter but I am going to go to a colleague's house who does know how to use it since he works with it.
Anyway, tell me how I have to use it so that I can tell my friend what you tell me, so I know that the black cable is the ground and the yellow one is the 12v, I suppose that I will have to set the multimeter to volts and then the black probe of the multimeter to the black pin and the red probe to the pin of a yellow cable, that is the first one I want to check both the volts and the amps since that is the one that goes to the graphics and maybe that is why it does not display the image on the screen My question is the following, on the power supply it says +12v1 +12v2 and -12V what is the difference and how do I test them? -
gentlemen, I tell you that I have measured the power supply with the multimeter and the volts are fine, it is almost certainly the motherboard or the graphics card, the problem is that I do not know where to test my graphics card, I do not know anyone with a moderately powerful computer to connect it to, my aunt has a computer with pciexpress but the power supply is generic 500w and without auxiliary cables to connect them to the graphics card, do you think that at least it will have the power to turn on?????
-
in the case of the graphic card, do you happen to have molex adapter cables or someone you know who has the cables?
edit:
to be more exact

well I just looked but one thing the graphics comes as for two inputs like the cables that you gave me but in the box I have a single cable but with two outputs moles is the same no???? if I use that do you think the generic 500w power supply will work -
well yes I just looked but one thing the graphics comes as for two entries like the cables that you have given me but in the box I have a single cable but with two outputs moles is the same no???? if I use that do you think the generic source of 500w will pull
I suppose you are missing a cable, but you can try. A 500w PSU I think gives more than enough for the motherboard and graphics and a disk with the OS also I don't think that to test the graphics you need hundreds of HDDs and fifty DVDs ¿no?
