Internet Explorer also opts for automatic updates
-
Chrome and Firefox had already realized that updating the browser version is not one of the favorite hobbies of internet users, Internet Explorer was missing, which has finally decided to adopt silent updates.
Microsoft has announced that it will begin to update Internet Explorer on computers governed by Windows at the beginning of next year.
The first users to enjoy this functionality will be Australians and Brazilians who have activated automatic updating through Windows Update. The company assures that the process will be carried out progressively for the rest of the users of its browser.
“Our goal is to ensure that Windows customers have the most up-to-date and secure browsing experience possible, with the best protections against malicious software,” says Ryan Gavin, general manager of Internet Explorer.
In addition to ensuring user security, Microsoft ensures that with automatic updates, old versions such as Internet Explorer 6 will be put to an end once and for all.
However, the company is also aware that there are users and companies that resist change. For this reason, they offer the possibility of activating the automatic update blocker so that it is the user himself who decides when he wants to update the version of Internet Explorer to the most recent.
