Hello, I have the following PC and I want to upgrade it.

Budget around 300€ + or -.
Uses: Apart from Internet with many pages open, Blurays and HD content and some PC exclusive games (Heroes V, Starcraft 2) (I don't want GTA4 at super quality, Crysis at maximum, battlefield 3 or any of that)
Necessary parts: Motherboard, Processor and Memory.
Parts you already have: The rest
Overclock: Yes but in the future

ASROCK 4CORE DUAL SATA2 R2.0 ; Any motherboard that is not Asrock because of very bad experiences with them, I prefer ASUS or any other that allows me to put fast RAM with possibility of expansion. If possible, that supports DTS sound from blurays

DualCore Intel Pentium E5200, 2500 MHz WITH ZALMAN 9500 CNPS > I want an Intel i5 2500K

2 GB DDR2 667 KINGSTON > 8Gb DDR3 at 1600Mhz with decent latencies and not a no-name brand.

I don't care where to buy the parts as long as they are reliable stores.
I would do overclocking in the future if I bought the graphics card and a good cooler for micro and even a power supply and an SSD.

The thing is that in the case of the Sandy (i5 2500K as your choice) for OC and gaming, ASRock motherboards are precisely the ones that give the best performance, not to mention the best. But of course, if for various reasons your decision is to change brands, that is your decision, as long as you choose a motherboard with a Z68 chipset you will be served for OC and for gaming. So I would look for one a little above what you put, looking for expansion slots and USB 3.0, that's what I would highlight.

The power supply I think is something you will have to change sooner or later, those 440W in the calculation may be too tight for your current power supply, both with OC and without it, because if you change the graphics card then I don't recommend less than 500W.
For that you have brands like OCZ or Corsair that are reliable and perform very well, there you already move in models by power and price.

The micro and the memories that you propose obviously seem adequate to me, this is my opinion.

I think you've got it into your head to buy a 2500k no matter what, but with a budget of only 300€ that can't be done properly. What good is having that processor if you don't have a cooler to match it, and even if you did, can't that board handle it at high frequencies? You don't talk much about the power supply either, and you can't have a processor like that with a crappy power supply

+1, get an i3 2100 or 2120, change the power supply if it's not decent, don't skimp much on the motherboard (for example ASRock P67 Pro3 for 90€) and you'll already be building an Ivi Bridge when they come down (they haven't come out yet).

Moving from USB 3.0 because I don't have or plan to buy any device that has it at the moment and the next gigabyte card that had it was microatx and it didn't give me a good feeling I don't know manias...

I'm glad Asrock has improved but after the current ASROCK 4CORE DUAL SATA2 R2.0 > very bad and the ones that broke out of the box in the CFGS practices of ASI I stopped using them.

I wouldn't even do a moderate overclock with the cooler that comes with that i5, in fact that cooler is a bit short to go to normal frequencies… personally I would forget about doing the slightest overclock.

ASRock proved that they were not a 2nd brand to Asus, and that they had people to compete in quality with practically anyone, but the Dual cards were hybrids, which in the case of the famous 939Dual-Sata2 were small wonders, while in your case with VIA ChipSet, they were a total fiasco.

By changing your card with something from Intel series Pxx you would notice a great improvement, but that update is a good idea, as long as your power supply can handle it :mudo:

In the end, the Gigabyte GA-Z68AP-D3 fell; for a total of 7€, I avoid putting a pci with usb 3.0 on it; I became an Amazon premium member because of the eagerness to receive the order before the weekend…we'll see.
