Hello everyone, I'm thinking of building a new PC, more or less taking advantage of something from another old one, but I have some doubts.

I wanted to build it if possible, although I've seen that the processor is a bit expensive, an i5 2500k in a tower with a budget around 500 euros.

I'm going to take advantage of the graphics I have and the DVD drive only.

I suppose the budget is a bit low for such a processor, that's why I have so many doubts about the motherboard.
I've also seen that hard drives have gone up a lot...

I'm asking if you could help me with the components, so that they are within a reasonable quality-price ratio, and if something like this is very bad with an i5 2500k, then see what other options I have. The PC is basically for gaming but I also don't want to demand too much from it, because with 500 euros I know I won't be able to do much.

      Thanks in advance.

        Hello

Could you put the model and characteristics of the graphics card here? So we can get an idea of what the team will yield, because it would be absurd to buy an i5 for a very old graphics card...

Will you also use the case? I say this because of the size and the price...

Here you have a more or less adjusted budget for a good team with a micro i5 2500K and a decent card at its height:
        Custom budget. PcComponentes.com

The graphic card for the moment is the 8800GTS 512, but later I will change it. The case would have to buy one too, but well it can be put aside from the 500 euros.

By the way Sylver the price of the components that you have put to me come out to me more expensive on the web. Are yours current?

It's not that they are more expensive for you, I made the budget just before posting, what happens is that in the budget they remove the VAT, but at the end of the sheet they add it, if you notice when you add up the components of the page you get the subtotal (bottom left) and when you add the VAT you get the total (bottom right)

Well that graphic for gaming will be just enough for you as I suppose you already know. If you are going to update it there is no problem. You would only need a case, it's all about getting a well-cooled one that you like.

I would get the following (520€ + shipping) and build it yourself:

              Custom budget. PcComponentes.com

              Scythe Slip Stream 120x120mm 1200rpm SY1225SL12M 12 cm Fan

If your system is not very outdated or you can stretch your budget, it would be good to make an effort and get a GPU:

Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB GDDR5 Refurbished 11162-99-90R Graphics Card

For 100 bucks, you get a good beast. When I got the Sandy, I replaced a 4850, which is even more powerful than your 8800GT, so I could make the most of it from the moment of purchase, and now I can play The Witcher 2 almost at full settings with OC without dropping below 30 FPS (excluding blur, which is more of a hindrance than anything else, Hyperrealism, which eats up bad stuff without contributing much, and relaxing the RAM load on the graphics card a bit).

If you have a SATA hard drive, I would reuse an old one to be able to get the 5850. If you can't afford it right now, you can always wait to buy a cooler and a GPU later, you could stretch to a Thermalright HR-02 for 40€ and ensure good temperatures even in summer with OC. The problem is that to mount the cooler, I think you'll have to remove the motherboard. The case comes cut in the backplate area, but I mounted another ASRock in that case (it's cheap but it works xD) and it didn't reach all the hooks. If you can get a cooler now, less work, and if it's enough for the HR-02, better that.

Thanks Sylver and Obione for your interest.

I know the graphic is just right for me but I will update it later, so with that budget I can get what you're telling me and hold on a bit with the gpu.

Obione, the heatsink you told me about, which I saw is a beast, does it fit in the case you suggested?

Could you tell me a case that is a bit more reliable? Even if it's a bit more expensive, but that has space for that heatsink without being so cheap, because it gives me a bit of a bad feeling.

The case specifies a limitation in HEATSINK of 161mm and the heatsink is 159 in height. If it doesn't fit, it is returned for fraud :risitas:

Now seriously, I doubt it won't fit, that's true, mount the heatsink before the card, although it is cut for backplate I think it doesn't quite reach once mounted in the case.
