Hello everyone! I was looking at hard drives (which are still expensive, but hey) because I wouldn't mind changing my current hard drive (320gb SATA2, Seagate I think) which is already a bit slow, from 6 months ago to now I've noticed how it has already been losing speed (it's about 6 years old)
I saw a WD Caviar Black of 750gb 64mb cache and SATA3, for about 100€, do you think it's too expensive? I don't remember its price before all the fuss about the floods, I think the Black ones were a bit more expensive than the normal ones for having better performance, does anyone remember what price they had before the increase?
How do you see that hard drive for gaming?
As you can see, the capacity in this case is not important, I put the 750gb one because the 500gb one costs 95€ and for 5€ you have the 750gb one (I already have a WD Green of 2TB as an external one to store data)
Let me know what you think, goodbye!

Well, as of August 2011, the WD Caviar Black 1 TB Sata 3 cost €79.90.
And it's good for whatever you throw at it;D
Best regards -
So they really do cost almost double still, because the 1TB Black is around 140€, I'm afraid we'll have to keep waiting, I'm not going to be the one to give them my money, and even less so knowing that for what I pay for 1 hard drive now I would have set up a RAID 0 a few months ago, so for now, let them lower the price I'm not going through the hoop.
Thanks for the info!
Best regards! -
They do cost double and sometimes more, it's better to wait a bit they shouldn't take long to return to normal, and seeing the mess they're making with the warranties the gentlemen at seagate have reduced it to 1 year and WD I think to 2 years, anyway let's see how the issue evolves, especially now that seagate has taken over the samsung part. -
Yes, they do cost double and sometimes more, it's better that you wait a little, they shouldn't take long to return to normal, and seeing the mess they are making with the warranties, the gentlemen at Seagate have reduced it to 1 year and WD I think to 2 years, anyway let's see how the issue evolves, especially now that Seagate has taken over the Samsung part.
But can they do that? By law aren't they 2 years?
Best regards -
Yes but that annoys the store owner who has to give the 2 years, that's why he says it :risitas:

Well, there you have it, the stores are eating the heat, let's see what happens because there was some demand, for example in America the warranty is one year, but in Europe it was 2 by law, let's see what happens with all this because what the hell.
-
I bought my 2TB Black for I think 90€ on hard2mano but it was new, in its pouch and all, before the summer of 2011 so
I am delighted with it. -
Well, there you have it, the stores are the ones who have to deal with the mess, to see what happens because there was some demand, for example in America the warranty is one year, but in Europe it was two by law, so let's see what happens with all this because what a mess.
How is that 1 year at Seagate?
Have you tried reporting it? I bet the mess will become crystal clear, they can't be that stupid.

If they do it is because they can, fools? XD, they don't have a hair of foolishness, otherwise they wouldn't be where they are and if they do it is because they are allowed to, as I said, we'll see.
