Buy laptop again for a beginner

Hello,
I wanted to buy a balanced laptop, with a large screen. Basically for browsing, email, watching videos movies, and for work, writing documents, viewing plans..
I think that with 4GB ram it will be enough, hard drive with capacity, I do not know if it will be worth an SSD that are more expensive and less capacity.
I do not have much idea, can you guide me?
I have seen that new ultrabooks have come out, extremely light, are they worth it?
