PCI 2.0 graphics card in PCI 3.0 slot?
-
Hello! I have a gtx460 pci 2.0 and a motherboard with pci 3.0 slot…... does something happen if I put the card in that slot? or would it be better in the pci 2.0 slot? The board comes with both slots prepared for sli, in principle I always connect the card in the main slot, but it turns out that it is pci 3.0. I don't know if I should disassemble it or leave it there, I don't want more performance, I know that if the card is 2.0 then it will still be 2.0 hehe, my doubt comes from whether it entails any problem the fact of putting a 2.0 card in a slot for pci 3.0.
Thanks!

Sure it works perfectly, but for these cases, it's best to read the manual, just in case it has any recommendations.

+1 to Fassou, it should work without any problems, but it's better to read the manufacturer's manuals in case it says something specific (which I don't think it does).

Well, the slot is 3.0 and also 2.0 at the same time, hehe. Thanks
