Hello everyone,
While reading about monitor specifications, I came across the following question:
Some monitors are described as having an LED screen, while on other occasions it is described as being LCD with LED backlighting
I would like to know if this difference is just a different way of saying it or if it is a different technology.
Best regards and thank you very much.

I think they are the same, there is another technology but it is very expensive and is only used in smaller devices.

As Obione rightly says, they are the same, unless you see a tremendous price difference, in which case it could be that other system that illuminates the pixels from behind, but that is quite expensive and I have not seen it in monitors aimed at the general public.
Technically speaking, an LED is nothing more than an LCD (Liquid Cristal Display) with LED lighting instead of tube lamps, but always applying the light from the edges of the panel.
Then there is the true LED backlighting that goes up in price quite a bit and consists of illuminating the pixels from behind and in some versions even controlling the lighting of each pixel independently and achieving notable results. As is known, the commercial world flouts the definitions, so they will call backlit monitors that are normal LED and have the lighting on the edge, what can we do.
I don't know what one of those true backlit ones would cost right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than double.Salu2.
