Samsung is working on an 8-core CPU for mobile devices
-
The idea they are based on to manufacture this processor is to unite 4 cores based on ARM Cortex A7 architecture at a speed of 1.2 Ghz, with another four cores, this time based on Cortex A-15 at 1.8 GHz, more powerful and with greater battery consumption in principle, so during tasks that do not require much power, such as desktop, navigation, etc, only the first 4 cores will be used, entering into action the other 4 in applications that need that extra power, such as is the case of games or more complex applications. In this way, a considerable energy saving is achieved without renouncing the power offered by its 8 cores.
