New OCZ Vector SSDs
-
Specifically, the controller is an Indilinx Barefoot 3, designed by OCZ itself and Indilinx, a company recently acquired by OCZ, ensuring total optimization between the flash memory chips and the controller itself. They will be available in three models, with capacities of 128, 256 and 512 GigaBytes, with the two higher capacity models achieving superior performance. We are talking about sequential speeds of 550 and 530 MB/s of read and write respectively, an amount that is reduced to 550 and 400 MB/s of read/write for the 128 GB model. The values it reaches in 4 k random read is 95,000 IOPS of write, regardless of the capacity of the disk, and 90,000 IOPS of read for the 128 GB, reaching 100,000 IOPS the other two 256 and 512 GB models in read.
