My PC doesn't work after doing an overclock
-
I decided to increase the frequency of an old computer, which I didn't care about breaking, I entered the bios and increased the cpu frequency (which I thought was overclocking) it was set to a value of 133 and I put 200, when I turned it on after saving the changes it turns on but the screen stays black, how do I fix it??
I'm new to this, and I'm sure they'll think what I did was silly -
If you give us more characteristics of the PC, it's better. Anyway, when you start it up, does it show you the Bios screen? You should be able to enter the Bios and change it.
If it doesn't even let you enter the Bios, take the battery out of the motherboard for a few minutes. Also unplug the power supply cable, PC unplugged. After a while, plug it in and it will start up. Enter the Bios and leave it as it was.
Next time, start doing OC little by little.

Well thanks, I can't get into the bios, the computer starts up but the screen stays black, as for the specifications I don't know, I did it without looking at the processor or anything, so do I have to remove the clock battery?? Is it on the motherboard??

If it won't let you enter the Bios, take the battery out of the motherboard for a few minutes. Also unplug the power supply cable, PC unplugged. After a while you put it on and it starts. Enter the Bios and leave it as it was.
Next time start slowly to do OC.

if on the motherboard, usually at the bottom right

Do as I say and before overclocking you must learn to identify all your hardware, you have gone through several basic courses and gone wild XD first try what I said, make sure you can access it, then check the pc and see what components you have and see if it can support an OC, power supply, cooling, motherboard, micro, in short everything, if you don't know how to look at it, it's usually printed on the parts or using programs like everest and cpuz can give you the information.
After that go to the overclocking subforums in this forum you have information galore.
