      Greetings and thanks in advance:

According to the bios I have the ram at 1600mhz but they should come with 1866, this wouldn't bother me if I could overclock them but it holds me back:wall:. According to the patriot page
      http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/detail/8GB%20PC3-15000%20(1866MHz)%20Intel%C2%83%C2%82%C2%82%C2%AE%20%20Extreme%20Masters%20Memory,%20Limited%20Edition

they should be able to go up to 2133 at 1.5v, but as I said it doesn't work. I leave you info from cpu-z

Enable XMP in the BIOS and if it still does not set to the value you want, select it manually. These overclocking things do not come magically, you have to configure them ?

          @ASRock:

          Supports DDR3 2800+(OC)/2400(OC)/2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066 non-ECC, un-buffered memory

The motherboard supports that speed through OC, so you'll have to set it up in BIOS.

          Salu2!

            Thanks for replying

Nothing, there's no way. I've tried with the XMP, manually and playing with the values but nothing:wall:

Nothing that isn't configured? That would be terribly strange unless you're not touching where you should… Otherwise you would have to try updating the BIOS.

I updated it 2-3 months ago when I bought it. I don't think it's normal for the micro to be overclocked by pressing a button and for the memory to resist so much, or is it?

Well, the micro is not set by pressing a button, but anyway… The memory has a couple of values:
                  Frequency
                  Voltage
                  Latency

They all have to be correct, it is supposed that when you activate XMP the board can read the values given by the manufacturer and thus configure it automatically, but if it doesn't work you have to check. In the text you have posted I don't see an XMP for 933 which is the speed you are aiming for, you should see this: Corsair Dominator 6GB 1866 MHz DDR3 review - CPU-Z

If you don't see what is shown in the images of the link in the SPD section of cpuz: XMP of 933 and you can't get your board to read it automatically you will have to configure it manually, so you will have to get hold of the full latency profile and configure it in BIOS. If the problem is simply that in the memory section of cpuz it doesn't show what would be the XMP 933 profile then it is either that the reading of XMP in BIOS is not activated or you have not selected that speed, which is what I was telling you in my first comment.

Thanks bm4n, the link helped me understand a couple of things but in the end I managed to set them to 900mhz.
In the bios if I enabled XMP and increased the frequency at the same time it gave me an error so I had to enable XMP and reboot and then increase it to 1800.
It won't let me set them to 1866 but there's not much difference.
Still, I hope to be able to increase them, in the bios in the latency profile it won't let me change anything, everything is on AUTO and it won't let me change it.
There are some strange things on this motherboard that I don't understand but okay.

Thanks again to everyone who replied

You also have to keep in mind that if you put an XMP profile in, the board doesn't take into account if you increased the FSB, so it might not support it because it's seeing a speed in Mhz, when what it applies is a divider, and the speed it applies is another (higher).
